Dangerous Toys 1989 debut #album is one of the best in rock history. Release as #grunge was about to usher in the sound of the #1990s, it has an angry edge to it. I bought this on cassette when it released. None of my friends listened to them. The vocals, the style... I loved it! And still do.

Years ago, I began recording the stories I write into audio and uploading them to the Internet Archive. A trick I learned is to read in sections to save your voice and not get burned out. Also, highlight the dialogue. This prepares your mind to switch from narration to speaking. #writing #advice

"The Richelieu River is a waterway in Quebec (Canada) that connects Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence River.

Its course is generally divided into two sections:

I learned of BBS: The Documentary by archivist Jason Scott after finding it on the Internet Archive. Immediately, I fell in love with it. It's about the time before the #Internet when those online connected via phone jack. Recently, I purchased an official, but hard to find, #DVD release of it.

I find stories about #alcoholics interesting. Charles Bukowski's, Bar Fly comes to mind. And, then there's Jack London's, John Barleycorn, where he talks about getting drunk as a kid. Drinking's work, and those who retire from it have a kind of wisdom gained from dancing the gallows in Hell.

My father had a master's degree in Swedish #massage therapy. I grew up in a house with a sauna. My father thought #stress was the root cause of many problems in the world. Dad had a giant massager like this in his office. Overkill perhaps, but it's impressive to say the least.

One of the best #guitar players I know grew up in Southern #California where at a young age he learned to play Led Zeppelin with his eyes closed. We shared many stages together. I've seen him be blackout drunk and play note-for-note perfectly Led Zeppelin's version of “When the Levee Breaks.”

Early 2000s. I made a short, silent #movie based off a #story I wrote. I sent a copy to a #screenwriter in #Hollywood who showed it at a party. A famous horror #writer watched it and found the sound in the background creepy. My friend asked what it was. I looped the sound of crickets chirping.
