Last two code branches have been 'rightsizing' and 'more-sizing'. Resisting temptation to call the next one 'Tom Sizemore'. (RIP apparently. Died in 2023.)

@ratkins.net I have an ultrawide monitor. 49". I generally use it in thirds. If a window is on the far right (no, not twitter), to use the menus I have to drive aaaaaaall the way over to the left hand side of the monitor, and then aaaaaall the way back. Any recommendations for me?

Mildly disappointed to find that Hamnet is not about a pig who acquires powers after being bitten by a spider.

This meme came up in my head a couple of days ago. A classic.
Me sowing: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!! / Me reaping: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.

I've been playing #Subnautica. Wanted to play it for a while, and managed to get it free via Steam. It's fun, but feels too massive. Every hour of play solves one problem and opens 12 more problems. And to solve that problem you need that thing you left back at your base.

Been rowing on the rowing machine every day for a few weeks. Felt fast today, so pushed a little. 200kcal in 10 minutes. Usllu about 165kcal. I do groups of 10 minuteses. 2 lots of 10 minutes is easier than 1 lot of 20 minutes.

I read a few books about North Korea. Memoirs of people who escaped, etc. They were fed propaganda their whole lives of course, about the state of the rest of the world. The 'deprogramming' of people who left, was to just send them out into the street, typically in South Korea.

Ted is a diminutive form of Edward, derived from an Old English tradition of letter swapping, where the initial 'E' in Edward was replaced with a 'T' for easier pronunciation. This nickname is commonly used alongside others like Ed and Ned. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

@craigmod.com hey Craig. I just finished TBOT, which I enjoyed a lot. We visited Japan about a year ago, a typical 10 day visit to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. Keen to go back and visit more remote areas.

Why are licorice jelly beans mixed in with the rest of them? Even if you like licorice, they don't belong. A similar shape, sure, but a wildly different food group.

On the train last week, I sat opposite a guy in full motorcycle leathers. Motorcycle boots. A helmet on his lap. "A bit of overkill for a train ride mate" He had earbuds in, of course, falling on deaf ears. The death of polite society.

A novice was trying to fix a broken Lisp machine by asking AI. Knight, seeing what the student was doing, spoke sternly: “You cannot fix a machine with AI with no understanding of what is going wrong.” Knight asked AI to fix the machine. The machine worked.

Got a house battery recently. And signed up to a plan where we electricity is free 11am-2pm. So, we charge the battery during that period, and the battery carries us fairly easily until at least 11am the next day. #solar #electrification #solarpunk

I found this option in #Vivaldi yesterday. Just turned it on on my work laptop also. It hides the various bars in Vivaldi, showing you a full screen of the webpage. If you move your mouse to the top/left/right, it will then show whatever bar is typically there.

A woman sitting next to me on the train was clipping her fingernails (and retaining the dividends). As he was leaving, a man told her to do it at home next time. "We can hear it, and it's disgusting."

Been working on an iPad app, and just submitted it for review. There is one last bug I need to fix, so I won't make it public yet. Plus I think I'll make a website for it, help people find it, etc. I want it to feel more indie than commercial, but they still need to be able to find it.

Plex Lifetime passes are about to go up to $749.99 USD. This is bananas. I bought mine for about 85USD 3 years ago. No regrets. 750 does seem to be a "fuck off price". They don't actually want you to buy it, they want you to pay monthly instead.

I never formally learned touch-typing, but can still type pretty fast on account of doing it for a living. I realised recently that I don't stick to the "right" keys. T and Y, for example, I type with my right or left hand, depending on the following letter.
