Finish no. 6 in 2026 Anti-Drama Spray by Embrovia. I changed the black outline to dark grey, DMC 3799. Rest are the called for colours.
Finished cross stitch project showing a pink and violet spray bottle adorned with pink flower and surrounded by 4 yellow stars. The colour way is a bit strange but actually works quite well. The label on the bottle reads "ANTI-DRAMA SPRAY" with spray being positioned on the second line, center aligned below the first line.

Finish no. 5 in 2026. Sat here for a couple weeks before I could talk myself into backstitching. Also meandered a lot between projects in August and couldn't quite settle down to just one.
Finished Stamped stitch kit of a green hippo with colourful splotches in all colours of the rainbow. It has blue eyes and a wide smile on its face. Stitched on 11 ct white aida. Not framed yet as there are at least five more animals in this series I haven't started yet.

When nearing the end of a stamped cross stitch, a neat back can help spot missing stitches. This is NOT meant to shame anyone whose back isn't neat! It takes practice and the will to even be bothered about how the back looks.
A progress photo of my current stamped cross stitch kit but showing the back rather than the front. The design is a green hippo splattered with colourful spots. The back is neat enough to be able to make out the spots. There are some obvious places where stitches are still missing, e.g. one eye and and area towards the top of its back. There are also small area I haven't filled in yet that are not quite so easy to spot from the front but where the thread density is noticibly less on the back. Two of these areas are circles in red to illustrate the point.

Starting another bigger cross stitch project when I already have several going is crazy, I know, but I sort of had to ... This is called "Saturn II", the pattern is from Stitching Land, the licensed stamped kit (14 ct) from The Stamped Stitch Club. Also available in 11, 16 and 18 ct.
A stamped cross stitch project showing the planet Saturn with its ring in the middle and a sort of night sky all around it. Only a small part of the right side is done yet in colours from burgundy to black, looking much like dust or gas clouds.

It's never been as hot in my neck of the woods as it has been these past few days. Only fit for not moving at all. Only, after two days of that I got so bored I couldn't even sleep! So I got out an old kit that hadn't seen the day of light for over two years! Planning on adding some backstitching.
progress (or lack of thereof) on cross stitch kit "Old Tallinn", published by RTO in 2010. There are two hills of grass in the foreground, a couple of trees off to the right and left sides. Above the tress on the right houses are visible, some with backstitch, most without. A bit of an evening sky is already stitched above them. In the middle one of the old archways is becoming visible with a half finished fir tree next to it to the right. Part of the town wall is coming to life to the left of the archway. There's a closed door and some windows can be guessed at but are little more than small rectangular areas waiting to be filled in. No backstitch has been done yet on either the archway or the town hall. Almost 50 hours work so far and I'd guess I have about a third of whole cross stitch done. The sky will work up faster because it's only half crosses.

Not cross stitch this time but a finish none the less. Diamond painting is easier to take with me and work on while in a clinic or hotel room. Used a rechargeable A4 lightpad for this which is small enough to pack but also doesn't require moving around all the time. #diamondpainting #diamonddotz
This is a partial diamond painting of a unicorn with the front legs draped over a rainbow. The background of a starry sky is printed on the canvas. There are hearts floating around the unicorn in several colours and these are painted as is the unicorn itself and the rainbow. The rainbow at the bottom of the picture has all seven colours and in the right order, too. The unicorn's horn is yellow-ish though and its eyes are blue.

Actual finish no. 4 of 2026 after I ruined the last project. This may end up as a present and since I don't know whether they are following me on here I can only show the back. At least it's reasonably tidy. #crossstitch #crossstitching #stitchsky
A finished cross stitch project showing the back side. The design is a pig in a white pyjama with red dots on it, also wearing red and rose slippers. The pig is holding a heart-shaped cushion and a wrapped present is sitting on the floor to one side. It's red as well with an orange ribbon wrapped around it and a small card or tag hanging off it, also adorned with a heart. Two small hearts are floating in the top left of the design, shown on the top right here because we see the reverse.

When you don't clear the side table before placing a full tea mug there *and* don't watch what you are doing you might end up ruining a cross stitch project. I did this morning. Otherwise this could have been finish number 4 in 2026.
An almost finished cross stitch project on (formerly) white aida. It's showing a pig standing up, wearing a light blue Norwegian sweater with a dark blue scarf and pom pom / bobble hat. On the outstretched right had sits a little bird, I think it's supposed to be a robin. In the left hat the pig is carrying a Christmas tree. Most of the backstitch is already done but it's still mostly missing on the tree and sweater. They will probably remain missing. There are huge tea stains in the upper and lower left corner of the fabric and the fabric itself is soaked at least from the left edge to middle as I did not realise that a lot of tea had spilled over the edge of the mug. A LOT. I haven't been able to get the stain out with gall soap.
The project was a kit from Oven, named "Pig with a Christmas Tree".

After accumulating five WIPs 🙈 I actually finished one yesterday evening. Third finish of 2026. Pattern by @samanthatextiles.bsky.social, available on Etsy. I used up left-over threads from another project and added my own as well. #crossstitch #crossstitching #stitchsky
Finished but unframed cross stitch project showing the text IT'S OKAY IF IT'S TAKING MORE TIME THAN YOU THOUGHT in two shades of blue. Each word is on its own line and the two shades of blue are alternating per line. All letters have been backstitched in a darker blue. The words are surrounded by small shapes like stars, mini hearts, snowflakes, ... in pastel rainbow colours. The project has been stitched on 14ct white aida.

Second finish of 2026. Enjoying it much more now that I have moved away from big/complex patterns. Cancer-induced fatigue doesn't mean I have to give up my hobbies entirely, just that I have to adjust. Pattern by Samantha Lane (Etsy), colour choice is my own. #crossstitch #crossstitching #stitchsky
Finished cross stitch project showing the phrase "Their opinions aren't your problem" with each word on a separate line. Except for the words "opinions" and "problem" there is a heart before and after each word. Next to each heart is a small star.
The letters are in different colours: blue-green, rose, light orange-brown, rose again and then starting over with green. Every word starts with a bluegreen letter. This is my own colour scheme, using threads from my stash.
The project was stitched on white 14 ct aida and is not framed or otherwise finished-finished yet.

Trying to get serious about cross stitching again and presenting my first finish of 2026 😃 Chart by HappySlothPatterns (Etsy), took 16 hours, colours pulled from my stash while trying to stay close enough to the called for colours. #crossstitch #crossstitching
Finished cross stitch project showing a sad-looking beige-brown cat with a white belly styled as cowboy with a red-ish hat on its head. It has tears in the eyes, and there is quite a puddle under its paws. At the bottom is the sentence "I'm not feeling very yeehaw." in capital black letters. The project is not framed yet.
