i do have my issues with cube, but i appreciate how much it gets done without leaving the scary zone. i just didnt believe any of these characters were interested enough in the rooms to keep doing house of leaves excursions into it when they could literally just walk out (even the guy who liked it)

for some reason i got the impression that this was some surprisingly good character study movie. i think it was more like if Cube opened and ended with a therapy session. some Really interesting stuff going around that the movie just didnt seem to trust its audience to feel for themselves

slept on it. i thought the backrooms movie was just okay. i wish they hadnt tried to elevate the concept, i think that kinda backfired. so many cool setpieces they could have done more interesting visual metaphor with, snubbed in favor of having the characters sit at a table and explain the metaphor
