"The process has taught me important life skills that will help me when pursuing a degree at university." 🎓 If you’d like to discuss how The Scholars Programme can help your Key Stage 2-5 students in Leicestershire, enquire here: bit.ly/3tPlj9D
The Scholars Programme in Leicestershire.

The Scholars Programme gives students from non-selective state schools and FE colleges across the UK the opportunity to work with a PhD researcher. It helps students develop the skills and confidence to thrive in education.

We’ve worked with over 1,900 pupils across Leicestershire. DfE progression data shows that the overall progression rate to HE in the region is 44%, but 53% of students completing The Scholars Programme between 2016 and 2022 progressed to HE, according to HESA.

“I thought at first that I would never be able to complete the final assignment, but as I progressed through the tutorials it became easier and I gained the knowledge in order to complete the assignment.” - Student, Brockington College

“The PhD tutors are always very friendly and approachable and relate very well to our students. The topics for the tutorials are also very good, they offer our students content they do not learn during the curriculum.” - Teacher, Lutterworth High School

4,4000+ pupils in Greater Manchester have taken part in The Scholars Programme, where students from state schools work with a PhD researcher. There's still time to get in touch to discuss The Scholars Programme for 2026/27 this side of the summer break: bit.ly/3tPlj9D
The Scholars Programme in Greater Manchester. We’ve worked with over 4,400 pupils across Greater Manchester. “The programme built pupils’ resilience and academic writing skills. There was a lot that they didn't know when it came to formal writing. They also learnt a lot in terms of team working, referencing and time management. They were amazed at what they got out of the course." - Teacher, Copley Academy, Tameside
