Louisville, why don’t you appreciate your local artists properly? I’ve had universities around the world (including an Ivy) offer to fly me put and pay me to lecture and perform. Last week someone in Louisville offered me a chance to play a short opening set for another local musician.

Reminder that live performance regulates the nervous system, so don’t be a meanie to artist friends who tell you about their shows. Paying the cover charge is way cheaper than your prescriptions/therapy & you get endorphins, dopamine, and a nervous system reset. Art fucking matters.

I have never understood why health care costs haven’t sparked the revolution in this country. But my family’s premiums alone next year will be almost $30k and the deductible another $10k. I do not know how we will do anything except pay for health care and work.
