Not following any prompts this year, but I am doing a daily ink/artober or whatever you want to call it. Just drawing whatever I feel like and adding them to my sketch card binder! First up is Jessie (& Meowth) of Team Rocket infamy from Pokemon! #pokemon #teamrocket #inktober #artober #sketchcard

We are definitely viewing things through Evelyn's lense here. The breakdowns in communication between parent and child aren't as one-sided as she thinks. As for how it plays out, we will have to wait and see!

Holding Mom and Dad back is more about their presence in the story or lack thereof. They've got a lot to worry about, and Evelyn isn't always their focus. To her, it can feel like they're not fully there. Mom and Dad may not be mysteries, but they have an important role in the story I want to tell.

WIP pg one of #talltalesofevelyncroft . I've been working on this idea on and off for the last year or so, losing and regaining motivation several times. Now, after coming to an epiphany on my own style and art moving foward, taking a much needed vacation,

I'm going to continue with this experiment and see what comes of it. That doesn't mean I'm going to stop learning and studing in my sketchbook. Just less direct application in finished pieces.

anatomy. I'm not even sure if the difference is noticeable to anybody but me. And with that, I have a question for my artist friends, when you draw professionally how actively do you apply everything that you have learned? Are you brain-off-have-fun, or must-apply-every-bit-of-knowledge-to-the-page?

I may be fighting my more cartoony instincts. As an experiment, I did this #batgirl piece. True brain off, no reference, no study, no mimicing other artists, just straight doodling. This resulted in me using more shapes and lines that I just enjoy putting on the page and less focus on real

Last year at NYCC, in my endeavor to get portfolio reviews, one common critique stood out to me. Maybe a dozen or so artists told me that my style fell somewhere between realistic and cartoony, and I should pick a direction. After hearing that so many times, I started to seek the advice of (1/5)
