"Have another drink," said Trillian. "Enjoy yourself." "Which?" said Arthur. "The two are mutually exclusive." "Poor Arthur, you're really not cut out for this life are you?" "You call this life?" "You're starting to sound like Marvin." "Marvin is the clearest thinker I know." Happy Towel Day!

Sigh. A book arrived in the mail that I've been awaiting, so I poured a cup of coffee, grabbed the book, and went out to the veranda. Alas, the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board arrived with a jackhammer and shovels to fix a neighbor's broken water meter just as I sat down to read. #NOLA #SWB

My coworkers thought it was really funny - I had a 9am meeting and I said that my parents and brother were all out partying. And a coworker said, "just to be clear, it's 9:22AM and your family is out partying?" And I said "Well in New Orleans it's 8:22AM" and everyone burst out laughing

Successfully performed nibectomy on my Conklin crescent filler fountain pen. The original fine nib was hard to start, dry, and skipped. Though I've replaced nibs before, this was a first for a pen with an ink sac and I was nervous. It went exceedingly well, swapping in a medium nib. Quite happy.
The picture shows a rainbow-colored Conklin Mark Twain crescent filler fountain pen on a napkin. The cap is off the Conklin pen. There are two brass sheets that are used to tweak a nib on the napkin as well as a disassembled replacement nib and feed assembly. In the top right is a fountain pen made from the seat slats of a New Orleans streetcar.

Most days there's a taqueria truck in this location just outside the Lowe's on Jefferson highway in New Orleans. I haven't seen him all week. Nor have I seen the dozens of customers or the day laborers around the entrances. I did see a car with "I am Charlie Kirk" on the window. #NOLA #ICE

Happy Felix Unger day!
Felix Unger, arms loaded with a few belongings, looks back as he leaves his apartment. An arm, presumably his wife's, is holding some more objects for him to take.
The text below the photo says "On November 13th, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence. That request came from his wife. Deep down, he knew she was right, but he also knew that some day he would return to her.

With nowhere else to go, he appeared at the home of his friend, Oscar Madison. Several years earlier, Madison's wife had thrown HIM out, requesting that HE never return."
