Descartes used his definition of God to rescue objective truth from total skepticism, but he didn't solve the messy reality of human corruption.

Free Will and Error: Descartes argued that God gave humans a limited intellect (we cannot know everything) but a free will that is virtually limitless. When our free will outruns our understanding, making hasty judgments or blindly following corrupted human institutions, we make errors and fall prey to manipulation. In his view, the flaw isn't in God's design, but in how humans choose to use their agency.

The Distinction Between God and Religion: This point highlights a critical separation that many thinkers make: the difference between the abstract concept of a perfect deity and the flawed, human-built institutions that claim to speak for that deity. Throughout history, organized religion has frequently been leveraged as a tool for social control, power, and wealth accumulation by fallible people.

The "Problem of Evil": The classic philosophical problem of evil - if God is good and powerful, why does exploitation and deceit thrive? Philosophers generally split into two camps here: those who argue that human free will inherently permits cruelty and deception, and those who argue that these systemic hypocrisies point away from the existence of a benevolent higher power altogether.

When you look at the sheer scale of the cosmos, it’s easy to feel that traditional religious texts describe a God that is far too small, often fashioned in the image of tribal politics and human insecurities rather than the vast, complex reality of existence.

It takes a certain kind of clarity to strip away the historical baggage of religious institutions and look for a deeper, more authentic truth.

To truly see systemic racism, we first have to admit how much we’ve been conditioned not to see.

Ever wonder why we're constantly told to blame each other instead of looking at who actually benefits?

History shows something straightforward that they don't teach in most schools: racial categories weren't discovered. They were created.

Here's what happened:

Centuries ago, wealthy elites needed cheap labor and more land. To make that work without everyone revolting, they created a system where poor Europeans got told, "You're part of the white team."

The Irish? Once called savages. Italians? Originally not "white" enough. Poles, Slovaks, Jews? Made to choose sides.

Meanwhile, Native peoples were erased and Black people enslaved, all justified by calling them "less than human."

The genius of this system wasn't just the violence. It was the psychology. They gave poor white people nothing but status - the promise of belonging to the "better" group - while keeping them economically exploited anyway.

Sound familiar?

Today, that same playbook runs on autopilot:
◦ Working class-whites are pitted against minorities
◦ Workers fight each other while profits soar
◦ Politicians profit from our anger at each other

The question isn't "Who's guilty?" It's "Who wins when we stay divided?"

Real freedom starts when we ask:
◦ Who taught me to see people this way?
◦ Who benefits from my fear?
◦ What am I being asked to accept without questioning?

Critical thinking isn't rebellion. It's survival.

Don't trust me blindly. Go look up:
◦ How the Irish became "white"
◦ Redlining and wealth gaps
◦ Why prison populations look the way they do

The truth doesn't hide. It waits.
