Happy #PrideMonth everyone! I’m Briana (or just Bri), a bisexual author with several books featuring all kinds of queer characters. Whether it’s my magical girl series, my middle grade fantasy series, or even my manga guide, if I’m writing it, it’s gonna be gay.

I do too! Also wild that people would cancel a preorder over a character. Like… you don’t have to pick her? There’s an entire roster 😅

I legit could not stop smiling at the Shuri trailer, and her and Storm having special dialogue with each other. They could’ve so easily not made it Shuri, but it’s her! We can have two! (That said that is NUTS about Marvel Rivals)

My goal is to finish the next chapter in my book. Finishing it + the epilogue is a little bit ambitious, but hoping to at least finish the next chapter 🥰

They are! I have them on my Etsy shop here: snowtigra.etsy.com (They’re also on Amazon and stuff but Etsy is where you get signed copies from me!) They’re illustrated novels where several key scenes have artwork attached, so the inside looks like the image below when there’s art to go with it 🥰

ALERT! There is one more chapter + the epilogue of magnifiqueNOIR Book 3 left to write. WE’RE ALMOST THERE BESTIES!!!

Nakamura, a gay kid, reminding Hirose that he doesn’t have to force himself to do things he doesn’t want after Hirose tells him that sometimes he likes to be alone/doesn’t always like listening to his friend talk about girls? Oh Nakamura, you have no idea how good you are 🥹

But events like the Black Girl Book Fair really help reinvigorate me and remind me that hey, I released two books, am working on a third, and I put girls who look like me front and center. That matters a lot. (2/2)

Bri Should Be Writing @brichibisky.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

I actually am pretty hard on myself about magnifiqueNOIR sometimes. I came up with the idea 10 years ago and I want to take it so far, so sometimes I’m like, “You only have two books, what have you been doing this whole time?” (1/2)

You’d think folks would learn that “pure queer content is the only content worthy of praise” is useless in a world where volume one of a series where they don’t even kiss until volume seven had officials calling for a ban. Your pure content won’t save you. You’re still gay 🫠 (2/2)

0134

Bri Should Be Writing @brichibisky.bsky.social · 12/04/2026

The gag with the whole “wholesome BL” mindset is that SasaMiya proved like a year or so ago that no matter how wholesome your queer content is, folks will still demonize it for being queer. Did we forget that they wanted to ban it? (1/2)

Hi hi! I'm bad at posting here, but! Not only will I be at PLA 2026 here in Minneapolis doing a signing for my middle-grade Fantasy Pin World series, but in June, I’ll be at ALA 2026 in Chicago doing a panel about manga! What do you mean I’m doing stuff with two library conferences about my work 🥹

So if the first book in my Black, queer, magical girl series is about the next generation of magical girls. And the second is them stepping back and wondering why the monsters are returning. It only makes sense that Book 3 introduces us to the original team, illustrated here by Tiana Conyers 👀👀👀

Not gonna lie I’m really happy about doing a year recap because I’ve been hard on myself for not doing some of the things I set out to do, but this reminded me to not discount what I DID do this year. Even if you don’t achieve some things, it doesn’t mean you didn’t achieve anything.

Since holiday break has been activated I really should use the time to reintroduce my Black, queer, magical girl book series to the world, especially since I’m finishing up the third book. Saying it out loud so I actually do it 😅
