He's one of the most unpopular but others have been less popular at times, at least according to polling.

I know a couple 85-year-oldish lawyers who are healthy as can be, work like hell, and seem to love what they do, despite the pressures of law practice. But I wouldn't say that their practices are what's keeping them alive and well.

Thank you. That seems plausible and not surprising. That's consistent with the data presented in the law-review article I cited. But that's a far cry from saying that law practice "caused" a lawyer's multiple heart attacks and stroke.

Certainly, lawyers can be unhappy and unfulfilled, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of their health conditions are job-related. See 57 Vand. L. Rev. 871. But is there evidence that lawyers are less healthy than others? Saying the job "gave you" a heart attack or stroke, doesn't make it so.

His ridiculous conspiracy theory was based on their having met in Atlanta, which is absurd for the reasons you give, but not (I don’t think) that they met at the game.

Yes. There are dozens upon dozens of journals. Quite a number of schools themselves have more than a dozen. The piece would be accepted for later publication in its current form I believe.

I was raised in the 70s by a single mother who subscribed to Ms. and dragged me to ERA and Women’s Political Caucus meetings most weekends until I was old enough to have my own activities. So I find this news gutting. Gloria Steinem was imperfect, like everyone is, but she was a hero.

And though the notion that Rules 3 and 4 are interlocking *jurisdictional* impositions is in the case law that can’t be squared with more recent precedent.
