Hopefully an actual human’s Iggy Pop Tshirt art in black and white that says “NOW I WANNA BE YOUR DOG” with an image of Iggy holding the mic and putting his body weight on it.

Just enjoying the local paper in the countryside.
A newspaper article segment reading:
“That spit was never intended to house heavy traffic,” Vagnini said.

There’s also the top of a diagram reading Partner Entry and Main Entry. Another segment that reads part of a quote:
“When it rains, it stays wet there forever,” Vagnini said about the proposed site.

Me, very much in my element earlier this week.
A red orange hammock with me in it, my lower half visible and covered in acid wash and two different colors of tie dye, holding my steel camping mug and resting some binoculars on my lap. There are tall green trees reaching up in the background. Everything appears verdant and earthy.

Pictured: Makeshift Moon. Light slipped from the edge of the moon, and I sat on the pavement during peak fullness. A woman asked to sit with me and we talked about the moon while it hid in earth’s shadow and a thick blanket of cloud. Once it began to rain, we exchanged “Happy Moon” greetings.
A disco ball hanging between two trees and framed by surrounding lush branches, a makeshift moon I stumbled upon while waiting for the full sturgeon blood moon.

Stumbled upon a birding park on the side of the road in Rhode Island this summer. UXF Black and White 100 ISO film, shot on my Minolta SRT102.
A crow perches on a wooden fence that leads up to a residential road sparsely flanked by large elms (or similar).A mess of pine tops, with a bird perched on the furthest branch of the highest.A crow flies across a barren sky, wings spread, the tips like fingers.

A Song & a Print Sunday / “Sintayehu” by Hailu Mergia & Dahlak Band. Worked with ink transfers and flowers, and— as has become tradition—when something doesn’t go as planned, the outcome or “fix” often becomes more exciting than the intention and teaches me a new method or trick.

Years ago I lived in Queens and I rode my bike into Brooklyn for work, passing by several cemeteries. Nothing felt more magical than when I would ride through two on either side of me. The temperature would drop significantly, and some evenings fireflies would float amongst the gravestones.

You’ve tried lobster tail, sure, but have you ever tried lobster ear?
A scene from Festa di Giglio off Havemeyer in Williamsburg, where a lobster shack spells it “lobester” about six times all the way around the stand. There are lots of people in the street, and carnival rides in the background. The man in the shack is loudly yelling “get ya lobastah heeyah” as people pass by.

A cloudless blue sky above Central Park Summerstage (I know they call it something different now but whatever), slowly gathering audience members scatter the astroturf, sitting and standing around a stage cast in mostly shadow.

Abandoned Casino, Newport , RI, on film.
A film photograph of the left side of the abandoned Newport Casino, lit gently by golds and peaches of the setting sun. Deep greens overrun the parking lot, and the casino architecture has a vague church quality, which honestly tracks. All photos by me on my Minolta SRT102 on Kodak Ultramax 400. A line of white trucks with cherry pickers, each in differing stages of their reach. They’re backed by a wall of green trees roughly the same height of the construction vehicles. A yellow tractor sits in the foreground to the left, a lieutenant of sorts. The parking lot is lined perpendicularly to the vehicles, suggesting a movement in the stillness. The light is soft as the sun sets, and a gentle vignette darkens the edges of the photograph. Gentle yellow flowers and tall, feathery green weeds grow up out of a curb where white cement has been poured, as if it could hinder their growth or ever tamp down what belongs. The blue and gold and peach tones of the sun set that lit the abandoned casino parking lot, and the silhouette of trees and power lines that stand still before it.

Things can be soft.
Buttermilk Falls, near Ithaca, NY. The deep lush greenery frames the aptly named foamy falls that curve between them. All shots from my Minolta SRT-102 on Ektar 100. More rippling falls over the rock, the spindly hand of a branch reached across the frame. A downed tree with shortened branches like spikes spiraling around it as it cuts horizontally through standing trees and over a steep drop in earth. Everything is gentle and wet and slow. A gold and brown millipede curling its way around a damp rock at the base of the falls.

Thanks to my very kind coworkers and friends at the studio, I finally have non-daisy chained power for my vocal and guitar/bass rigs, respectively. 🥹 A month out from a small show, and I’m excited to test it out.

Bill Callahan at Knockdown Center last week. 📷 for @weallwantsomeone.bsky.social
A stage of reddish orange light with Bill Callahan at center, with Dustin Laurenzi on the left on sax, and Matt Kinsey on the right on guitar. Jim White is on drums, but obscured by Kinsey in this photo. They appear in several forms layered over one another, as it is taken through a prism. All photographs by me. Jim White on drums, the stage swathed in red, with white lights fanning out from behind him. The full band on stage in black and white. Matt Kinsey bends over his feedbacking guitar, Jim White plays drums, Bill Callahan is singing into the mic and playing guitar, and Dustin Laurenzi is on saxophone. Bill Callahan singing into his mic and playing acoustic guitar as indigo light washes around him, and white lights gently fan out onto the stage in smoky rays.

I got to be in the empty Guggenheim theater today, and it ruled. I’ve never been lucky enough to see anything here, but it felt good to stand on the stage for a few moments.
The empty theater in the Guggenheim, taken from close to the back. There’s a covered grand piano and a lap on stage. A sleek, metal art piece stands to the left, in an almost shark fin shape. There are few straight lines to be seen, and it’s a wash of beige and tan. Rows of seats, starting from Row K. Design from a different time. Scallop shapes adorn the walls. More of these perfect tan seats, above a literal slope of light brown carpeting.

Saying a slow goodbye to winter, as it finally warms up.
A color film photo of a snow covered red elementary school, with snow covered branches flanking either side. All analog, all photos taken by me. Black and white film, Brooklyn at night. 🖤
A black and white photograph of a jewelry store at night, a wall of necklaces and beads and pearls underneath a series of framed art on the left, and a hat stand in the darkness to the right. All photographs by me, Brianna DiGioia.Three French style windows, fluorescent bars of light glowing inside. It is difficult to make out what’s inside of what is actually a building alongside McCarren Pool during offseason. A deeply contrasted black and white photograph where freshly painted white walls have a break from their painted advertisements. Someone on a moped is zipping by, their silhouetted outline implies a helmet, and the light from their vehicle glows in a white circle. Inside an analog photo booth, my reflection can be seen, my face obscured by my Minolta camera, in the glass that conceals the booth’s camera.
