My $.02, if the midterm losses are large enough (losing FL, NE, KS, and so on), forcing Trump out and bringing in Vance is their only prayer for 2028. 2 more years of a President already heading for sub 30 approval ratings risks > 60 Dem Senators, and I don't think they can accept that risk
