Remembered I have a Bluesky account. Here's some weird tech you can do with Elena in #3rdStrike ! The pushbox on her Lynx Tail special retracts REALLY far back on frame 1 (44 pixels!), so you can use it almost like a dodge and fall out of combos on purpose. Pretty funky stuff! ᕙ(:▼‸▼: )ᕗ

Had fun this weekend at the Atomic Buster tournament in Lille, France! The 10th and final event of my offline world tour this year. Got 5th in ST, and grinded a shitload of SoulCalibur 2 casuals! Forgot to actually take any pictures though, so here's Q + Twelve at the Lille Christmas fair (´∀ ` )

Flying Barcelona is over! A fun-filled weekend of fantastic Super Turbo action. Nothing beats the camaraderie of offline fighting games! Managed to beat my tournament nemesis (a certain Claw...) in both Solo & Teams, AND single-handedly carried my team to 4th! Next stop: Lille, France! ᕙ(:▼‸▼: )ᕗ

I was asked the other day by @thaumy.bsky.social what techniques I use to make my #3rdStrike Birthday Cards. So here's a quick 1-minute tutorial I whipped up on how to make cool 3D effects with 2D sprites!* (**Note: specifically in DaVinci Resolve. But I imagine most editors have similar features!)

This is what it looks like on the characters it won't work on. I'm just testing various ticks and microwalks here to try and trigger the spacing. (I won't subject you to every single test.) The close HK either triggers or it won't. Can't make it whiff. (3/3) #3rdStrike #tech

Vile Island / BrianM_3rd @ YT @brianm3rd.bsky.social · 11/07/2025

Here are the others who can do it (w/ hitbox view): - Ryu (just him, no other shotos) - Makoto - Twelve! (`◡´ ) - Chun (of course...) I'm sure this is nothing new, but I still thought it was neat! Funnily enough, Makoto also gets automatic whiff spacing from a corner throw.👇 (2/3) #3rdStrike #tech

Back on the #3rdStrike #tech grind. One of Chun's biggest threats on wakeup is her close HK. 4F startup, and cancellable into super, it's a powerful counterplay to throw attempts. I discovered that, with good spacing, it completely whiffs on crouching Q. Here's some stuff you can do with it! (1/3)👇

Even more Remy charge partition nonsense. It's possible to react to whether a meaty low LOV hits or is blocked, and complete your charge partition accordingly. Either to complete the charge and hit confirm into a flash kick, or walk forward a bit and perform a frametrap with sMK. #Play3rdStrike

Vile Island / BrianM_3rd @ YT @brianm3rd.bsky.social · 30/06/2025

Havin' fun with Remy. In particular, looking into charge partition setups that let you HIT CONFIRM flash kick off of his clMK! (+5 cr. hit) Close MK is his biggest confirm threat with super, but without meter his damage output is pretty ass. Trying to fix that problem! #Play3rdStrike #ItsAGoodGame

Then the head of state personally thanks them for cleaning up the country of the alien menace. Am I insane? There's no other way you could possibly interpret this, right? The imagery, the phrasing, the current political timing. How the hell did they publish this. Book is "Alien Search Squad".

"Please don't blast us" begged (begged!) the first alien. "You're trespassing on our planet. I'm afraid we're going to have to take you in. It's for your own safety as much as ours." Please. Don't. Blast. Us.

"Who knew there were so many aliens hiding out in London?" "And we still haven't found them all" "Help!" he cried. "Please don't shoot! I'll come quietly." and he held up his hands. A children's book btw. Fffffffuuuuckkkkkkkk offfffffffff.

Don't usually post this kind of thing, but... Are you kidding me...? Read the text. A kids book. About a team of "alien" hunters who bust into their homes while they sleep, point NOT GUNS! at them, load them into vans to haul them off to a "secret island". Not even trying to be subtle. Sickening.
