We need industries that do right by their workers, our communities, our land, and our water. None of us can do this alone. Watch Rachel’s video, talk with your neighbors, and vote November 3. #election #wv #vote #jobs #energy #futureforwv #change

No one should have to choose between medicine, groceries, and keeping the lights on. We need leaders who will fight for patients not pharmaceutical profits. Register to vote by October 13.

She's the real deal. If you want real change and reform in the Senate we need to look beyond electing Democrats in blue and a handful of purple states and invest resources in red states. West Virginia became a red state because of disillusionment and apathy not because they love the GOP. #WV #vote

If we want to make real change we also have to invest in deep red states. West Virginia is red because of apathy and mistrust in the political system. Invest and elect progressives in WV and it will start to change. If you are able, please make a donation & show your support. #WV #Politics #Midterm

We get it. Donald is a buffoon who does this performative bullshit because it makes him feel tough. It's thoroughly embarrassing but I guess we are paying the price for those who sat out the 2024 election or voted for him because they naively believed he cared and would lower the price of groceries.

She's a great candidate. I know West Virginia has been ruby red the last 10 years, but I think she could give Capito a tough race if she has the resources. #WV

@jenpsaki.bsky.social Democrats might actually have a chance to expand the Senate map if you interviewed more people than Jon Ossoff. There are great candidates like @fettyandersonforsenate.com that are getting zero attention from the national media and from the @dscc.bsky.social .

Jared Polis will not be the Democratic nominee for president in 2028. It's ridiculous that @washingtonpost.com includes him on their list of contenders. He couldn't win his home state. #MSNOW

@sawyerhackett.bsky.social If you really think an 83 year old former president who is releasing his memoir after the midterms is going to affect the outcome, it doesn't seem like you are a very good strategist. Leave Joe alone!

So you upset with Obama and the hundreds of Congressional Democrats over the last 50 years who were also unable to codify Roe v Wade into Federal law or just Joe Biden because he's Joe Biden.

At ~6 points, the answer is very, very poorly, I'm afraid. A major collective miss by Colorado's political press corps, and a real disservice to voters to have aided (whatever any individual or organizational intentions were) Hickenlooper's oxygen-deprivation strategy.

I didn't know who you were until about a month ago. But after researching the AG candidates, I said to myself, she's the real deal, & you got my vote. Thanks for putting yourself out there & getting in the political arena. Disappointed you lost but am glad you will continue the fight.

It's only been a few hours. I think she's entitled to have a night to sort through this and make a statement in the morning. She's still a human. I would imagine this is the most difficult thing she has experienced professionally.

Phil Weiser's political skill has always been underestimated in my opinion. It goes back to beating a high-profile district attorney in George Brauchler when he was elected AG in 2018. Brauchler was widely known with impressive credentials running for a seat the GOP usually won & Weiser beat him

Bennet is a charlatan. He ran for president in 2020, which was a joke, because he didn't want to be in the Senate. When he lost, he ran for reelection in '22. It wouldn't surprise me if he ran again because what else is a career politician going to do? If he does he will undoubtedly be primaried.

I voted for DeGette, but I feel if she wins that will and should be her final term. And then you will have a wide open primary, probably a progressive backed by establishment vs someone DSA aligned again

Bennet as governor and Polis in the Senate is too horrific to think about. Bennet said he wouldn't but politicians don't always keep their word, ha ha. Appointing Polis to the Senate would be political suicide for Bennet.

That's the Weis choice 🙂 Seriously, I agree with you. If Weiser wins, and I sure hope he does, I have high expectations for him and he will have to demonstrate that he can turn rhetoric into action. Bennet was a non starter for me.I have no clue how that race will turn out though.

Bulwark interview was better in my opinion. The host's constant references to prediction markets was cringe. Didn't think it was necessary to refer to Rutinel as a "dynamic, young, Latino" & Bird as an 'older white lady," Hick was a popular mayor, don't think he was great. Pena & Webb were great

You're not making sense. I have never been impressed with Bennet & occasionally voting the right way or making an angry speech on the Senate floor haven't changed my mind. The Bennet/Hickenlooper era of Colorado politics needs to end. Full stop. Have a nice day.

Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
Weiser isn't perfect but he's an incredibly talented politician who has been a very good AG. It would be stupid to not take advantage of the expertise he has in state government to satisfy Bennet's ambition. And not everyone who feels this way is DSA as you seem to suggest.
100
Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
Disconnected? I don't think I've put Weiser on a pedestal. Bennet has been an incrementalist his entire career and has a soft side for corporate interests. He's running for governor because he's tired of being in the Senate & he's bankrolling his campaign with his personal fortune & Bloomberg money.
200
Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
💯 agree. It also infuriates me that he could be a "kingmaker" and appoint his successor if he's elected governor who would undoubtedly have an advantage going into a primary, instead of allowing voters a clear choice. And he's staying tight lipped about it. He should go back to the private sector.
110
Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
He shouldn't be running for governor in the first place. If he is tired and frustrated with being in the Senate he should resign. If he loses the primary he should announce at the very least that he will not seek reelection in 28. That way we have plenty of time for a robust primary.

Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
The ACA was definitely a step in the right direction. Not sure why you brought that up. Not interested in continuing this discussion. You seem to think that Bennet will be a transformative gov. I am skeptical of that & believe he would be more of the same. Should stay in Senate & retire in 29 Peace

Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
The $750 million bond deal he championed, which backfired and saddled DPS with tons of debt, was a stroke.of genius. DPS enrollment was never under 70K during his tenure but the graduation rate among Manual HS students displaced after he closed the school dropped approximately 20 percent.
200
Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
His decision to close Manual HS was questionable at best and his support for charter schools I don't think served DPS well. The superintendents that followed him aren't running for governor.
100
Brian Giulieri @briangiulieri.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
After observing Michael Bennet for more than 20 years from his time as DPS superintendent until now, I have little faith he would follow through on using the political capital it would cost to enact a public option in Colorado. If you are excited by him, fine. Time for Bennet/Hickenlooper era to end
