Aw man! I just watched a programming podcast that casually mentioned an industry standard tool that uses fewer dependencies than the one I recently picked at work! Ahh, well. The task is done, I guess it's good to know for future reference.

Change my mind: it'll take several years (maybe decades), but memory/compute/LLMs/etc. will get so cheap that a halfway decent LLM/coding agent be common place in software development.

Am I the only software person who likes to use LLMs so far to automate away my work? I mean, it probably didn't hurt that most of my job for the last 8 years have been tedious work that I always thought was just grunt work that I can now offload to something else.
