Good luck, Ash! Hope you find tons of great stories!

Brian C. E. Buhl @briancebuhl.com · 30/09/2026

Man, I wish. I love DongWon, and I even have a high concept SciFi. But I'm absolutely terrible at querying this story, and particularly bad at querying DongWon.

The only thing Lesbians have in common with UFOs are 1) Some guys are really weird about trying to look at them and 2) Crop circles

No, but I would down an ice coffee later so that I can more easily piss on their grave.

The list misses tons of animation, including Avatar:The Last Airbender, which in my opinion is some of the best television... ever. It is all super subjective. Fun to talk about, though.

Nobody should be on Meta platforms. We are the product.

I can understand why Breaking Bad made the list. Not sure why it's #1, but it is a culturally significant show. I didn't finish the series, mostly because it there were a few characters I hated, and not in a fun way.

There are some good entries on this list, but the order is crazy, and there are some shows that are criminally missing. My list of top 100 would definitely include Psych.

I went searching for it, but search is only giving me the plural titles. I don't know anything about The Avenger. Was hopeful, because X-Man was one of my favorites for a while.

Brian C. E. Buhl @briancebuhl.com · 24/09/2026

Is The Avenger, singular, similar to X-Man, following a specific powerful character burdened with impossible purpose?

Here are a couple more showing the transformation.

From the back, short hair. Some balding maybe visible, but fuxk it.

Me, short hair, still with the beard, but clearly happier than with long hair.

Me, from the back, with long hair. Not a flattering picture.

Me in my office, dark shirt, light shorts, with long hair and looking... okay. Not the happiest version of me.

Brian C. E. Buhl @briancebuhl.com · 24/09/2026

Finally did it. I feel like my old self. I feel like me again.

Me, with short dqrk hair and clean shaven. Probably looks 5 to 10 years younger than the other picture.

Me, old white man with long graying hair and a lot of white in my beard. Been growing the hair out for 5 years.

If you ever have an opportunity to do a NASA tour with her, it's incredible. The tour guide will do a great job, and then Mary Robinette supplements the tour in a way that delights the guide, and everyone has a great time.

I suppose that means the ice cream is technically flavorless, which might impact marketing.

Come down and step up. Look here and give me your ear. You've got a need and I've got a product. Let's put them together and see what falls out. I'm gonna put food on your plate, a smile on your lips, a song in your heart, and money in your pocket. You'll make 3 easy payments. It'll cost me more.

I wrote some observations about the WXR: Grand Finale, which I'm currently enjoying.

Blue water, gray clouds, dark mountains dipping down to the water on each side. In the middle, the blue ice of a glacier.

I would say that is reasonable, but Rockwell's Justin Hammer is up there with it.

I think that's it! Probably should have made this a thread but uhm.... I didn't think of that until just now. Wonderful people, wonderful writers, were up for these awards, and they are all winners even if they didn't get a rocket. Hope I can make it to Montreal next year.
