Just a reminder that not only is Eric Schmitt one of the dumbest members of Congress he's also an open white supremacist. If the Axios story is true that Vance wants him as his running mate in 2028 it says a lot about Vance wants. missouriindependent.com/2025/09/15/m... 1/2
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

Schmitt’s speech at the National Conservatism Conference followed one speaker who argued at length that America’s biggest problem is white guilt and another who insisted the U.S. is in a crisis that can only be resolved by becoming a Christian nation.

Schmitt went full blood and soil.

In the speech, titled “What Is an American,” he proclaimed that America is not “a proposition” or a shared set of values, rather it is a country for white people descended from European settlers, whose accomplishments should not be diminished by acknowledging the people that some of them enslaved, the Native Americans they killed, or anyone else denied equal rights at the founding. Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

Schmitt made repeated allusions to the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory. This is the increasingly widespread conspiracy theory that Jews are bringing non-white people into this country to replace its rightful white owners. That’s what the “good people on both sides” as Trump put it, who chanted “Jews will not replace us!” in Charlottesville were referring to.

Schmitt hired a staffer who was fired by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign for making a video containing Neo-Nazi imagery and has too many ties to white supremacists for me to detail here.

"Not all conservatives are neocons or reactionaries. The New Right in Europe is against capitalism, globalization, liberalism, imperialism and Russia-phobia. Very strange kind of conservative, right?

"This New Right argues that the real enemy is liberal centrism and insists that the division of political spectrum into right vs left only benefits liberal centrists. Socialists need to separate themselves from leftism and remember that for 50 years between 1845 – 1894 socialists did not identify with leftism. It is liberal centrists who are terrified of socialists and conservatives uniting."

"Orientation
How far back does individualism go?"

I"n my books Lucifer’s Labyrinth and Forging Promethean Psychology I attempted to describe the many ways that the West is different from the rest of the world. In Lucifer’s Labyrinth I traced the history of individualism as far as the Middle Ages. In my first book, From Earth-Spirits to Sky-Gods I contended that individualism in the West began in Axial Iron Age Greece. Kevin MacDonald, in his book that this article is based on, Individualism and the Western Liberal Tradition, has convinced me that the rise of Individualism in the West goes all the way back to the Ice Ages and its particularly harsh climate."Screenshot from the article "Ice Age Hunters and Pastoralists: Bio-Evolutionary and Climatic Roots of European Individualism" at https://socialistplanningbeyondcapitalism.org/ice-age-hunters-and-pastoralists-bio-evolutionary-and-climatic-roots-of-european-individualism/ The screenshot includes the following text.

"Coming Attractions"

"In my next article I draw out the evolutionary, social and psychological consequences of Europe having an abstract morality which reaches beyond kin groups. Please see the cells on the right side of Table 3 for examples. Social identity theory helps us understand why some ethnic groups are more loyal to each other than to others. In the last 200 years Europe has been paying for its refusal to take its own ethnicity seriously. There was a counterrevolution against this aristocratic individualism which was supported by the Anglo-Saxon attack on slavery along with the rise of a substantially Jewish elite whose ethnic strategy was to turn Europeans against each other by exploiting their moral universalism. They encouraged Europeans to renounce their own ethnic self-interests. This obviously failed in World War II. However, Zionists have been attacking Europeans since the end of World War II. The Zionists have controlled Europe for 80 years. This elite became entrenched in the media and educational system. MacDonald points to the likely consequences to the European populations if present trends continue."

No, that's not really true. For example, the claim that the Villages retirement community in Florida is an STD hotbed is a myth. 👇 There is zero evidence that retirement communities have an above average STD rate. apnews.com/general-news...
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this skeet.

Compared to Florida overall, however, the three counties containing The Villages tended to have significantly lower rates.

Sumter County had one of the lowest rates of sexually transmitted diseases among older adults in 2019 —with about one in 10,000. That’s compared to six in 10,000 seniors statewide. Marion and Lake bore similar trends. The same patterns emerged for diagnoses of human immunodeficiency virus, also known as HIV, among Florida’s older adults.

At the county-by-county level, The Villages similarly fared better than most.

Spread of sexually transmitted diseases among older adults in Florida tended to be higher in counties with major cities and large Black and Latino populations, state data suggest, such as Hillsborough, Miami-Dade and Broward counties. People of color, LGBTQ people and women experience disproportionately high rates of sexually transmitted diseases due to social determinants of health that are more likely to impact marginalized groups.

In The Villages, 86% of seniors are white, according to U.S. Census data. And the percentage of older adults living in poverty is slightly lower than the national rate, suggesting its retirees may have better access to health care than the country as a whole.Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this skeet.

‘A punchline’

While sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis are surging nationwide, much of this nascent spread is among adults in their teens and 20s, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. Half of all infections are among people 15 to 24.

But rumors travel fast in communities with shared values and histories. In the United States, sexually transmitted diseases carry salacious weight — despite being remarkably common and highly treatable — due to ongoing stigma, said Elizabeth Finley, spokesperson for the National Coalition of S.T.D. Directors.

“One of the pervasive characteristics of sexually transmitted infections is that people turn them into a punchline,” Finley said. “Because there’s so much shame associated with them.”

Blechman, the author of Leisureville, suspected ageism plays a role.

“This really has nothing to do with concern about high STD rates — it has to do with old people having sex,” he said. “People who are older are just people who are older. And they should be treated with respect, not as a caricature.”Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this skeet.

Some say a disgruntled nurse hurled it as an insult. Others believe it began with a joke on a radio station. But most trace it to a 2006 television news story “Doctors in Retirement Community Seeing Increase in STDs.”

“While statistics aren’t yet reflecting the trend, one physician at the Women’s Center of The Villages said, even in her years working in Miami, she has never seen so many cases,” the since-removed WFTV article reported.

The Women’s Center of The Villages is no longer open. And the doctor was never named.

The myth snowballed from there. It appeared over the years everywhere from the New York Post to the Daily Mail. Often, the stories seized on signs that The Villagers were engaging in casual sex or dating, wielding them as evidence of heavy transmission within the retirement community.

I grew up in very White and GOP inland Southern California and I saw this too. I also saw Confederate flags flying there. Also, I'm old enough to remember when printed Chick Tracts were commonplace, at least here in Southern California. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick_t...
Screenshot of the following text from the Wikipedia article linked in this skeet.

Anti-Catholicism
Chick tracts have been referred to as "arguably one of the most successful contemporary attempts to construct Roman Catholicism as a social problem". No fewer than 20 of the tracts are devoted to Catholicism, including Are Roman Catholics Christians?, The Death Cookie (a polemic against the Catholic Eucharist), and Why Is Mary Crying? (arguing that Mary does not support the veneration Catholicism gives her).

Several Chick tracts, along with six full-length comics, have featured the ideas of anti-Catholic conspiracy theorist Alberto Rivera, such as claims that the Catholic Church created Islam, Communism, and Nazism. In The New Anti-Catholicism, religious historian Philip Jenkins describes Chick tracts as promulgating "bizarre allegations of Catholic conspiracy and sexual hypocrisy" to perpetuate "anti-papal and anti-Catholic mythologies". Michael Ian Borer, a sociology professor at Furman University, described Chick's strong anti-Catholic themes in a 2007 American Sociological Association presentation[19] and in a peer-reviewed article the next year in Religion and American Culture.

Chick's eschatological beliefs include "the Catholic Church [creating] a one-world government and [ruling] the world via the last pope, who is possessed by Satan."

Chick tracts also portray Islam as a false religion created by the Roman Catholic church, which is under the influence of Satan.

In Chick's view, "right theology and a knowledge of evil's true nature are the proper defense against the satanic onslaught of a godless (Catholic) media."

KSR is now more skeptical about colonization of Mars than when we wrote his Mars trilogy. I read a good interview with him about his novel Aurora and why he is more skeptical now. I couldn't find it but I did find this one where he mentions it briefly. www.publicbooks.org/earth-first-...
Screenshot of the following text of an interview with Kim Stanley Robinson from the article linked in this skeet.

Kim Stanley Robinson (KSR): I would disagree with George about that. The real Mars is way more interesting than the pulp Mars, which was just a fantasy space, often swapped out with Venus or wherever. And we can have both now, in effect, because we still export a lot of dreams there. I think Mars is a great place to think about Earth, as a planet, and about society as a constructed thing we are still working on, with the idea we could improve it. In specific Martian terms, the idea that there might still be bacterial life on Mars was not there when I wrote my Mars books, and that is a game-changer if we take it seriously. Also, the presence of perchlorates in the soil, poisonous to humans, and the relative lack of nitrogen on Mars, are new findings that really complicate the idea of inhabiting the planet and terraforming it. These are not deal-breakers, but they are significant obstacles. However, even if slower, terraforming Mars remains a great long-term goal; but long-term meaning like ten thousand years. Which means we have to get our relationship to our own planet in order for anything interesting to happen on Mars.

Screenshot of the following text from the article linked to in this skeet.

Now we're seeing conservative estimates show that 750,000 people have already died, most of those are children, and that's within the first year. And unfortunately, what we're learning is that really this is just the tip of the iceberg. It's what we're going to see in the next few years, where new babies who are born are no longer getting the immunizations we used to provide, babies are being born with HIV at high rates in some clinics, where just a year ago those rates were near zero. The impacts of this are going to—we're not going to see the full effects of them for four years. I mean, I honestly believe that when the dust settles on the Trump administration, his cuts to USAID will end up being a major part of his legacy, because of just how far-reaching those impacts really are.Screenshot of the following text from the article linked to in this skeet.

ENRICH

So many. I mean, this was the problem of what happens when you hollow out an agency of its expertise and replace it with people who really have no idea what these programs are. I mean, I was trying to describe the impacts of malaria, I believe, to one of our senior political appointees, and he said, "Whoa, whoa, slow down. Is there any way you can do this in, like, Barney-style slides, so so that we can understand, as non-health people?"

Referring to the children's, the dinosaur—

Thanks for sharing that. The quotes below are my favorite from that piece. I'm not a fan of nostalgia and I immediately tense up when I hear the words "the good old days".
Screenshot of the following text from the Substack article linked in the OP.

The “bad” kind of nostalgia is when we long for some imagined “golden age,” either in our lifetime or long before. This “back-in-the-day” syndrome is what Boym calls “nostos,” or “the return home.” Boym argues that nostos often encourages people to do two things: first, to reject, mock, or even hate the world as it is; second, to seek some rebirth or return to a better time — be that real or imagined.Screenshot of the following text from the Substack article linked in the OP.

The good and bad of nostalgia is that algia — longing for what’s lost — is what unites us. The reason all those nostalgia words are so popular on social media is that most of us feel them. Most of us miss the good old days of our childhood — cared for and carefree. We miss the joys of playing computer games, going out with our friends, and staying up watching TV after the parents have gone to bed. Nostos, though, divides. It says that the new, the young, or the different are an unwelcome change. It says not only “I miss the old days,” but “You are the reason the old days are gone.”

I became a fan of The Rockford Files as a kid and one of the many things I loved about it was how it's the opposite of copaganda. With the exception of Detective Becker cops were usually incompetent, corrupt, or both. bsky.app/profile/defe...
Screenshot of the following text from the article "‘The Rockford Files’ Remains One Of Television’s Greatest Hangs" by By Tara Ariano at https://defector.com/the-rockford-files-remains-one-of-televisions-greatest-hangs

At the same time, Rockford can feel surprisingly modern. The most striking example of this is in its depiction of policing. Rockford’s frenemy, the LAPD detective Becker (Joe Santos), can be relied upon for good intel when Rockford’s run out of less legitimate angles, but whenever a case takes Rockford to any town smaller than Los Angeles, a local sheriff will send gorillas to rough him up and/or run him out of town. Agents of the FBI are portrayed as hidebound, credulous, or lazy. Even in cases in which the cops don’t appear on screen, their stink still hangs over the proceedings: If they had done their job properly, Rockford wouldn’t be pocketing his $200.

I suppose that Old Man Trump knows just how much racial hate
He stirred up in that bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed that color line
Here at his Beach Haven family project

Beach Haven ain't my home!
No, I just can't pay this rent!
My money's down the drain,
And my soul is badly bent!
Beach Haven is Trump’s Tower
Where no black folks come to roam,
No, no, Old Man Trump!
Old Beach Haven ain't my home!

I'm calling out my welcome to you and your man both
Welcoming you here to Beach Haven
To love in any way you please and to have some kind of a decent place
To have your kids raised up in.

Beach Haven ain't my home!

I looked at their TL and they went from an allegedly liberal account about 6 months ago to a full-on MAGA racist and Islamophobic one. (I assume that previous incarnation was an act.) Anyway, blocked.

That's already a movement by ex Catholics that broke away due to Vatican II. In fact, actor Mel Gibson is a member. I imagine MAGA Catholics will go in that direction. people.com/celebrity/in...
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this skeet:

So in 2003 the actor decided to help change things back to the way they were, building a chapel in Malibu, Calif. – The Church of the Holy Family. Tucked away in the tree-covered mountains of Agoura Hills, 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, the rustic church, unaffiliated with the Roman Catholic archdiocese, has a foot-tall crucifix on the altar and the priest keeps his back to the parishioners as he performs mass every morning entirely in Latin. In church, women must wear head coverings.

Among traditionalists, there is a more extreme group affiliated with the ultra-conservative stream of Catholicism known as Sedevacantism, meaning, “the seat [of the papacy] is empty.” They believe there has been no legitimate pope since 1958. Gibson hasn’t said he shares that belief, though his father, Hutton Gibson, is a well known anti-Vatican II activist and author of the book Is the Pope Catholic?

Yeah. Jonathan Frakes suggested that Soren, who was part of a gender-neutral species but identified as female, should have been played by a male actor. screenrant.com/star-trek-tn...
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked to in this skeet:

Looked at in today's light, "The Outcast" is a discussion of gender identity that was ahead of its time, but in 1992 the episode served as an allegory for the struggles of all LGBTQ+ individuals, not just those who were trans or gender-nonconforming. "The Outcast" contains some very powerful scenes that still strike a chord with LGBTQ+ viewers, but for actor Jonathan Frakes, who played Commander Riker, the episode had one big flaw: Frakes believes it wasn't bold enough in its exploration of gender identity. Soren was played by Melinda Culea, who did an excellent job with the part, but Frakes has gone on record multiple times to say that he believes having Soren be played by a male actor would have been a bolder choice. This is certainly true and would have made "The Outcast" a milestone for Star Trek's LGBTQ+ representation in a number of ways.

Yeah. The original series episode "Balance of Terror" introduced the Romulans. It was basically a cold war submarine story but it did touch on political and social issues like prejudice, as when Kirk said this. www.imdb.com/title/tt0708...
Screenshot of dialogue from the original Star Trek episode "Balance of Terror". (Quote page from IMDb linked in this post.) Basically, due to an inadvertent transmission the USS Enterprise crew learn that that the Romulans look like Vulcans. Prior to the events shown in this episode it was not known what Romulans looked like.

Lieutenant Stiles, whose family lost several members during the Earth-Romulan War about a century earlier, is the ship's navigator in this episode. When he sees that the Romulans look like Vulcans he becomes suspicious and distrustful of the Vulcan Commander Spock. This leads to the following exchange between him and Captain Kirk:

Stiles: I was suggesting that Mr. Spock could probably translate it, sir.
Captain James T. Kirk: I assume you're complimenting Mr. Spock on his ability to decode?
Stiles: I'm not sure, sir.
Captain James T. Kirk: Well, here's one thing you can be sure of, mister: leave any bigotry in your quarters. There's no room for it on the bridge.

Yea. I went through their TL and despite their claim, depending on the skeet, of being liberal or socialist it's overwhelmingly right wing antisemitism and transphobia with a little bit of Trump (at least at the beginning) and Putin apologia and one pro AI skeet. Easy block.

Second skeet:

I'm a Democratic socialist. We've always been hypocritical about democracy and liberty. Its a sham. Just look at how free speech has been attacked during the protests against genocide. That sickly fascist IHRA definition of antisemitism was even okayed by AOC. Unreal. She caved to the Zio-fash

At later gun shows, I started to pay more attention. Were ex-wives and their demands a threat to some guys at the gun shows? I frequently saw books for sale at the shows such as The Predatory Female by Rev. Lawrence Shannon, whose field guide to dating includes a set of tactics to undermine the supposed Gestapo power of women who rule the divorce and child-custody judicial system. In a radio interview, Shannon said that “victims of the predatory female are strewn all over the nation, writing alimony checks, recovering from gunshot wounds, treating cat scratches, trying to see their children, paying attorney’s fees, picking through the detritus of their lives, and struggling to recover from ruined years.” The Predatory Female is a collection of warnings about women who prey on the feelings and bank accounts of unsuspecting men. Female predators have their eyes on one thing alone—money. They marry and divorce to get alimony. They use emotions of love, trust, and care to undermine the sacred contract of marriage. They are the new scourges of secular life, hunting down unsuspecting men to get bucks and tear out their hearts.

It appears his attacker may have been drunk but it obviously doesn't excuse what are his core beliefs about Black people. www.aljazeera.com/opinions/201... 2/2
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

If the blatant racism on display in the lead-up to the 2020 election is at all surprising, you have not been paying attention. Candidate Donald Trump began his ascent to the US presidency descending down a gilded escalator and spewing racist epithets about Mexican immigrants. The descent has continued and there doesn’t seem to be a bottom.

In his latest round of racist attacks, President Trump has put Congresswoman Ilhan Omar in his crosshairs and signalled the theme for his re-election campaign. This time, he drew upon a classic racist refrain telling Omar, along with House Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib that if they, as he alleges, hate the United States so much “they should go back to the broken and crime-infested places from which they came“.Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

Racism in the US is hardly new. People of African descent were dragged to this land 400 years ago; our pain and struggle are woven into the foundation of this nation, and yet our claim to full citizenry has always been dubious at best and conditional at worst. This very history adds another layer of absurdity to Trump’s targeting of Pressley, who is the descendant of Africans enslaved in the US.

Although Pressley is not the child of immigrants or migrants from a US colony, as a black American, this is not likely the first time she or her family members were also told to “go back”. The very existence of free people of African descent in the US has, as WEB Du Bois famously laid out, made whites view Black people as “a problem“, and imminent danger to white society. White society has responded to this problem of their own design through racist laws, racist violence and efforts to send black people “back” to Africa.

I remembered the that W won the Muslim vote in 2000 but I forgotten it was that high. www.voanews.com/a/muslim-ame...
Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

According to surveys conducted after the election, more than 70 percent of Muslims voted for Bush, and most of the 50,000 Muslim votes in Florida went to the Republican candidate. Bush won the election after a prolonged recount of the vote in Florida, a state he won by a mere 537 votes, and a dispute that ultimately was decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, the country's highest judicial body.Screenshot of the following text from the article linked in this post.

If there was a high-water mark in the love affair between Muslim-Americans and the Republican Party, it was the 2000 election. In 2004, more than 90 percent of Muslim-Americans voted for John Kerry; in 2008 and 2014, Muslims voted for Barack Obama, by 89 percent and 85 percent, respectively, according to several estimates.

Islamophobia fuels switch

Why did so many Muslims desert the Republican Party after the 2000 election?

The most common answer given by Muslim advocates is a resurgence in Islamophobia, and a U.S. foreign policy perceived as detrimental to Muslim interests around the world. While Bush sought to reassure Muslims after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that the United States was not at war with Islam, Republican policies and rhetoric have since reinforced a perception among many Muslims that the party is a hotbed of Islamophobia.
