Zebra cowl

Picture shows a cowl lying flat in dark maroon and beige zebra pattern. It is handknitted and for decoration there lay 2 dried exotic flowers in dark yellow at the right side.

Cowl knitted in the round. You begin with a ribbed cuff. Then knit the zebra pattern in fairisle technique with two contrasting colours.
Materials: You need DK Yarn in two contrasting colours. Gauge of 22 stitches by 27 rounds (per 4”/10cm) for colour work in stockinette in the round after blocking.
You will need about 170m per colour, and for the ribbing another 80m in one colour (170m + 80m = 250m)
Size Finished size of the cowl, when measured flat after blocking (width x height):  12.5”/32cm x 9.5’’/24cm without ribbing or 13’’/32cm with ribbing.
Circumference of the cowl, when measured in the round after blocking:  25”/63.5cm
Variation:  Using Sport weight yarn with a gauge of 24 stitches per 4’’/10cm, the cowl will be shorter and tighter, with a circumference of approximately 23’’/58cm.  I advise against using yarn thinner than Sport (24-26 st / 4”), as the cowl is pulled over the head and the zebra pattern isn’t particularly stretchy.

Chapel
A small rose window forms the central motif of these socks. The inspiration for this ornament comes from the northern transept of the Marienstatt Abbey Church, a simple church in RhinelandPalatinate, Germany, typical of the Cistercian order.  The other elements of the socks are taken, with artistic license, from typical Gothic architectural elements. Those of you with an architectural interest will also recognize the buttresses that “support” the arch of the foot in these socks and are typically found on the sides of churches.
A detailed step-by-step guide for stranded colorwork socks from size US 4 to 13, which are knitted toe up. The socks have a horseshoe heel and gussets.  You can choose from 4 widths with 60, 64, 68 or 72 stitches, so you get a great fit. The instructions are adapted to the highquality sock yarn of Hand dyers and should not be knitted with thinner yarns.

BAD WITCH - GOOD WITCH
This is a hat against framing and for feminism.

The Bad Witch hat is a reversible beanie. When worn inside out it becomes “Good Witch.” CHOOSE your side to wear - let’s not BE chosen. Let’s not be called.

By the way, the English word witch is gender‑neutral, and the hat comes in five sizes! Diversity rules!

Minster Cowl
Cowl with an architectural pattern inspired by the north transept of Westminster Abbey. This cowl is best
suited for a tighter knit, which gives it more structure and enhances the design. One size fits all.
The floats have a maximum of 7 stitches, but are usually 5 or less.

Insa Socks
One width, 72 sts, it can be varied by the needle size and yarn used.
Suggested yarn All sock knitting yarns with a yardage of 360 - 425 m/100 g will work fine.  Up to size EU 40 / US 9 I recommend yarn with a length of 420m/100g, from size EU 41 / US 10 onwards use yarn with a length of 400m/100grams.

What is a bad witch?
We can certainly agree that doing malicious harm to other people, like eating Hansel or Gretel, would be bad. No doubt. Nevertheless, in the historical context, the majority of people who were put on trial and accused of being "bad witches" were merely framed for their boldness, protection, and willingness to challenge authorities or establish boundaries. Or maybe one simply was independent or in the way.
Maybe we do need more "bad witches" today!

So this hat is for a modern archetype of a bold and boundarysetting, assertive version of a witch. Let's remember that some norms and society's expectations need to be challenged, because they are unfair, unjust or not healthy for your soul. Knit the hat as a nifty act of rebellion!
The cap comes in five sizes, and if your gauge is correct you can knit caps in the sizes 52/54, 54/56, 56/58, 58/60, or 60/62, which correspond to the standard hat sizes XS through XL. XS will probably also fit teenagers.
The common knitting techniques are described and explained. Two rarer techniques are shown via video. For those there are links – and additionally each one includes a QR‑code (in case you print the instructions).

“Her*story” is a wordplay on the English word “history.” The pronoun “his” (his/his) happens to be part of the word. If you replace that “his” with “hers,” you point out that historiography has traditionally told almost only the male perspective. So “herstory” is essentially a neologism meaning “women’s history.”
In reality, historiography is not only very male‑dominated but also class‑biased (focused on a particular social class) and overwhelmingly white. Almost all people who were neither privileged nor male have been deliberately “forgotten“.
Between HER and STORY you also find the gender asterisk (*), which signals that discrimination occurs in many overlapping ways (see, for example, intersectional feminism for further research).

This freestyle project was made from leftovers from my sparkly schärmel, and I knitted the brim with a different yarn due to get more elasticity. I think berets are a great stash-busting project—and you can find countless patterns for them online. Have a wonderful start to the New Year! #knitsky 🧶

Blooms scarf. Dark red melange fluffy shawl, medium length of approx. 1 metre. You only need about 300 m of your favorite spring or summer yarn. A natural fiber content of about 50% ensures that the lace pattern remains nice and open.
The shawl is knitted over 294 rows and a maximum of 77 stitches and is perfect for non-elastic materials such as silk,  cotton, linen or viscose. Alternatively a brushed alpaca also works well for the lace pattern and gives you a feather-light, fluffy feeling on the neck.

Blooms scarf. Black scarf in the making, brushed alpaca and lace cotton for an aran weight version of approximately 1.20 metres length

Blooms sweater
Knitted in brushed alpaca, absolute lightweight. The pattern is available in an incredible 11 sizes, for people with a chest circumference from 80 cm to 146 cm.  But diversity does not stop here! This pattern comes standard with yoke for normal, short (petite) and tall sizes.  A short size will never fit well by simply shortening the overall length. This instructions takes that into account, so any chest measurement will work for people under 5’6” as well as for people over 5’7”.

I used about 6 balls of purple mohair silk I had as a leftover from a knitted dress

And I had 2 balls of grinchgreen Mohair - so yeah 👍
