Its so close they share a road lol. The first time I went I got lost and ended up at the Domestic Terminal for Delta lol. It was also a really cool experience with my nephew watching the planes take off/land as we waited to get into the arena. Gotta pour one out for a real one. Rest easy, Gateway 🫗

Im a little sad. This is the best move for them. With a larger fanbase the team deserves a bigger arena. But I did love Gateway. Nice environment and super affordable. Meanwhile the parking near State Farm is $50+. Imma show up for my team tho. I'll just be on MARTA to cut down on cost lol

Awwww. This kinda makes me sad. I liked Gateway Center Arena! Every seat is a good seat in there. Parking is significantly cheaper. And its closer to my house lol. I do get it tho. They have outgrown that place. This is a good move for them. But Imma miss Gateway! 😩 #WNBA

I tried using a spreadsheet last year for tracking and status updates. But that became hard to manage the more apps I completed. It did help for a bit tho! For similar jobs I was able to reference back to tailored resumes I had already done and used those for new jobs. Streamlined the process alot

Its the Aces of it all that really showcases they have not been developing younger players. Dana out, Nalyssa out, Talbot hurt (not sure of her status), Jewell had to leave the game early. You gotta rely on Mai and Kalani to pick up the slack? In the playoffs? Whew boy. That bench is wispy 🥴

Nia is a great option to start, but that leaves a gaping hole in that 6th player off the bench. They can fill that with a free agent. But thats kinda been the problem. The Lynx have been trying to fill the holes in their roster with free agents and its not working.

Why wouldn't there be an expectation to do both? They've got dynasties, no? You've got to have successors in a dynasty. They dont have those, and thats a huge problem when your Big 3 are in their 30s. You've got to have a pipeline, or you will get to a point where you have to rebuild.

I never said they did. You can make the argument they're in a similar position as the Lynx right now. Its a great spot for free agents. But not a lot of investment in rookies. Their saving grace has been international players, but not consistently.

Other teams are in a different phase and cant really be compared. The Storm and Sparks are in a rebuild. They have no choice but to develop younger talent. The Mystics chose development over free agents. The Dream and the Wings are probably the closest at some balance but it could still be better.

I'd argue it is unique to them. Part of the reason they have a Big 3 is bc they invested in their rookies. The Aces are who they are bc of the investment in Plum, A'ja, and Jackie. Where did that go? Alot of investment was made in Phee too, and now Liv. Where is that for the others?

The top two teams with a Big 3 arent doing it well, which I think was the point of this thread. Cheryl and Becky do not have a pipeline of younger players who are developing under vets. And it showed/is showing in the post season.

No not many. But when you're the Lynx and have to pull your starters out bc they arent playing well, I can only hope that you've got a bench that can handle the additional load. And the Lynx do not. If Phee leaves, there is no one they can elevate to that starting spot.

I dont know of any player the Lynx have developed the past 3 or 4 years thats able to produce much. Most of their success has come from attracting free agents, and thats fine. But there is no pipeline of new talent being developed there. That hasnt been their focus and it shows with their bench.

What do you mean by investment? Kosu had a good start to the season, yes, but then had a sharp downward turn production wise after ASB. Dorka's trajectory was even worse. She had maybe 3 good games earlier in the season and thats it. Emma played 3 games in May. Theres not much to say there.
