Building up all the bonus materials for the upcoming launch of the fantasy series. I can’t stop certain authors from being TERFs, but I can create something better. 💪 🧙

Sometimes updates to the Patreon don’t deserve a whole post about it. But we still make the upgrades regardless. I remember when it was silly graphics I barely flopped together. To now have professional graphics that were made for the project. So cool.

Starting next week, I’m adding the spell casting curriculum to the house sections of Patreon for the Tales of Olta. 🧙

Have you ever felt demonized for being different? Have you seen in yourself something special that others treated as strange? Olta is a school for those who embrace difference; for those whose difference defines their greatness. Welcome home.

Progress on the DM screen. From left to right Evil Lab, Haunted Mansion, Green Way, Palace (center), Tavern, Library, Ice Way. Today I got vase coloring on the Haunted mansion and the Library. Still months of work ahead.

The orientation of these three sets REALLY makes it look like a big busy city.

I’m tempted to make a whole thing of… issues with my roommate. But for now I’m just gonna leave this isolated thing here. A half-eaten pint of ice cream that he ate with a fork and left overnight in the bathroom.

Only my second large monster. Trying to do this inverted darkness contrast that sea turtles have where the scales are dark and skin between is light.

So, it’s a new year. I’ve got three finished novels published and THREE FINISHED NOVELS NEVER PUBLISHED. as you can tell, the latter is starting to weigh on me. I’ve needed an agent to represent these new fantasy novels but can’t get a single one to respond to my query letters.

Water all clear after cleaning. Big breakthrough was getting the alkalinity dosing pump back online. Will test again Wednesday to make sure it is all good.

The biggest lingering pest problem in the aquarium has been bubble algae. I added 3 larger pithos crabs and they have managed to decimate about 25 of the algae in a week. Wow!

Brett Edward Stout @brettedwardstout.com · 07/12/2025

Deep breaths. Today’s maintenance on the aquarium is done. 12g water change, carbon change, socks change, skimmer cleaning, and… after no calcium or all testing for 2 years, the numbers testing and were insanely low - but now 477 Ca and 11.6 Dkh

Everyone has survived the night. I gambled with adding a copperband butterflyfish (striped fish on far left) - for those who don’t know, there is a more than 50% chance they will die transitioning to a new tank.

Major new animals added. Here is hoping they adjust and eat. Fingers crossed.
