Things We Lost in the Fire #2 I don’t know about y’all. But I am *struggling* with art right now. (Perhaps because everything feels so #fake right now, kinda like everything I’ve ever known is a lie.) #collage #EastCoastKin #HumansOfBlueSky #yellowthu
A photo collage featuring a young dancer clinging to a window sill. Her face is down, shielded from the horrors of the world. Flames engulf the frame. The mood is melancholy and a little hopeless.

“Unredacted” Why, might you ask, would I choose to spend precious time right now crafting the world’s tiniest air clay penis? Well. Some of us scream into our pillows at night. Some of us make art about it. Some of us do both. #epsteinfiles #resist
An Official “The Apprentice” Donal Trump doll sits on a red lip couch with a much younger-looking Skipper doll. Cigarettes, alcohol, cocaine, gifts from Victoria’s Secret and other accoutrements are scattered around the scene. Trump is undressed enough to expose his micro-penis and is pushing Skipper’s head down toward it, while Rembrandt’s “The Abduction of Ganymede” hangs over the scene in the background.

“Unredacted” by #artist #photographer Breonny Lee.

“Meth Sold There” First piece of 2026. Y’all. I *struggled* last year. Making art is hard when the world is on fire. On the one hand, it feels more urgent than ever. On the other hand, it feels more meaningless than ever. #windowsonwednesday #collage #dreamscape #eastcoastkin
A composite of multiple layered photographs. This piece includes an antique composite baby doll with a sign pointing to her mouth that reads “Meth Sold There.” A skull rests on the baby doll’s tongue, while a sinister figure lingers on the left edge of the frame. Additional texture and layers create a sense of unease. The words, “as long as you have a young and beautiful piece of ass” crawl along the bottom edge. Another semi-nude baby doll anchors the bottom right of the image, her dress falling down revealing the top of her bum drives the point home. The piece leaves the viewer with a sense of unease as the artist grapples with difficult sentiments in a world where nothing makes sense right now as geopolitical tensions rise and our own homegrown pedophile in chief throws gasoline on the proverbial fire.

Lavender Clouds. A Stairway. Though still not sure where it goes. New piece, made for #SelfPortraitSunday. iPhone #collage, 2025 This one plays with #duality more than usual. See comments for details/alternate. #ArtOfSelfPortraiture #dreamscape #EastCoastKin
A surreal, dreamscape photographic collage made from multiple images overlaid. A woman looks off into the distance while a stairway climbs over her shoulder, leading to a doorway. The door opens to a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Grounding and background elements include brick work, lavender clouds, sprawling vines, a “one way” street sign, and pink flowers.

I tend to think buildings and manmade constructs when I think #angles but I love how the geometry of these young dancers in motion lines up. #DoubleExposure in camera. Nikon D800, 2015 #BlueSkyArtShow #EastCoastKin #dance #photography
Young ballerinas in long, pale blue gowns dance around the stage. The flurry of flowing skirts dominates the frame. A double exposure outlines the shape of the dancers, like hazy spirits floating larger than life across the scene.

This used to be sprawling forest. We razed giant oak, cedar, pine, redbud, dogwood… all in the name of development. First for the lake, then for housing, businesses, and recreation. This is what deforestation looks like. Beautiful, isn’t it? #ForestFriday #EastCoastKin #scape #CedarCreekLake
The sun sets over Kings Creek Country Club golf course, near Cedar Creek Lake in east Texas.

Pink and orange sunlight rolls across the hills and settles in the pond, while a storybook rock bridge gently rises over the water. The grass needs to be mowed; it tickles the edge of the frame, inviting the viewer in for an evening stroll.

Hi. 👋 I’m still new here. Came to make friends with artists and #HumansofBlueSky who are also disenfranchised with the current social media climate. I’m a #photography based artist and commercial #photographer based in #Dallas. Pleased to meet you. #EastCoastKin #ArtofSelfPortraiture #UrbanGaze
Selfie in a window reflection in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Clutching my Yashica-D twin lens and a Barbie doll in my right hand, while balancing a red iPhone in the left. The Blue Swallow Motel lights up in the background. Feeling extra touristy in my bright blue Route 66 t-shirt I picked up because I didn’t pack enough for the trip. 💁🏻‍♀️

Really enjoying it here on BlueSky in a way I haven’t since MySpace. Looking forward to “meeting” more of you!

I missed #BlueSkyArtShow because I am wrestling with “home” these days. To me, #home is not the place where you live, but the place where you belong. And lately, I feel like a stranger in my homeland. Grappling with this all on #stunday A cell snap driving into my hometown #Dallas #EastCoastKin
An American flag waves proudly as Downtown Dallas towers in the background on a sunny afternoon. The bright blue sky is filled with cheerful white clouds. Snapped from a car window facing north while passing into “the canyon” (the part of I-30 depressed below street level running south of Downtown.)

I call this series Space Between #Dreams. Partly because they’re surreal dreamscapes and partly because I work on these pieces in the night battling insomnia. Sometimes I barely remember doing it so I get to see them with fresh eyes in the morning, which is neat. #SleepySep #EastCoastKin #collage
This is a surreal dreamscape collage created on iPhone. A woman in a yellow dress walks off toward the left. She is on a door. We do not know where the door leads. In the foreground, a streetlamp competes for attention, while a lone, fluffy cloud floats above and to the right. Deep blues and purples imbue a pensive tone.

Sometimes, all I need is a dose of #cloudporn and a reminder to #lookup to keep the crazies at bay. It’s beautiful out there, this #BlueSkyMonday. (Not from today, but wanted to share anyway.) Hope your day is beautiful, too. 💙 Nikon D800, 2014 #EastCoastKin #MinimalMonday #photography
The sun glows from behind fluffy, smoky white clouds, while the deep, blue sky anchors the frame.

On the road again, so here’s an old favorite for #stunday Edwards Crossing is a magical place. Built in 1904, you can still cross these timber slats on foot today. The view over the South Yuba River is breathtaking and a little dizzying. Nikon D300, 2010 #EastCoastKin #landscape #photography
The view from the center of the Historical Edwards Crossing Bridge in Nevada City, California. Looking over the edge, timber slats peek up from the bottom of the photograph. The crystal turquoise water of the South Yuba River rushes under the bridge, winding through large, granite rock slabs that make up much of the river bank.

Another place that used to be someplace. Stumbled across this little structure, burned out, melted glass running down rock, barely peeking out amongst the sunflowers. Lost on some little highway between little nothing towns, somewhere (nowhere) in Texas. 2013, Nikon D800 #summer #BlueSkyArtShow
A tiny building made of rock and colored glass brick peeks through a sunflower patch. The roof is completely gone, burned up in a fire.

Been struggling creatively lately. Perhaps because worldwide dumpster fire? Beat my head against this piece. Went probably too hard on that window to the soul thing. Anyway, still not distracted. Release the Epstein files. iPhone collage, 2025 #EastCoastKin #scape #dreamscape #collage #surreal
A photographic collage comprised of multiple layers. At the center is an eye, framed inside a window. Eyelashes interwoven with vines and pink blossoms surround the edges. A small boy sits at a bistro table looking lost. A man stares at the viewer, his eyes hidden by sunglasses. He looks impatient.

With the world upside down right now, the fantasy of exiting society to live off grid in the middle of nowhere grows stronger by the day. Stumbled upon this sign in Marfa, Texas a few weeks back. Makes my wanderlust soul happy. #BlueSkyMonday #EastCoastKin
Blue skies and fluffy white clouds frame a tar black telephone pole reaching heavenward. A small, hand painted wooden sign nailed to the pole reads, “THIS IS NOWHERE” in bold, black letters.

Was fascinated by this window and the Giant Swallowtail frolicking in it. Patiently tried to catch the shadow of the butterfly at play. Alas, the decisive moment was as elusive as this tiny fluttering beauty. #EastCoastKin #WindowsOnWednesday #window #iPhoneography
Blue skies peek through a domed window as the framing from the window panes cast shadows against the wall. A tiny butterfly, a Giant Swallowtail, casts a tiny shadow as it flutters above the window.

Some called him Keyboard Bob, others Deep Ellum Bob. To me, he was just Bob. A legend in our little neighborhood, he will be sorely missed. Enjoy swapping dirty jokes with the angels and I will catch you on the flip side. Celebration of Life | 08.24.25 @ Reno’s. #DeepEllumPeople #HumansOfBlueSky

Once upon a time, this was someplace. Probably a bookstore, by the look inside (pics in comments). Redford, Texas Now forgotten, abandoned, imploding, like much of the town. Given time—and soon—nature will reclaim what was once built here. #BlueSkyMonday #photography #EastCoastKin
An abandoned patio in Redford, Texas. Concrete benches tilt askew beneath a patchwork of roof slats. Most of the roof has broken away and blue skies break through overhead casting long shadows on the ground. Wrought iron window bars hide the contents of what was once a bookstore.

Melting in this east Texas humidity tonight and staring at my little black mirror, can’t resist one more for #stunday The #sunset over the Trinity River a few weeks ago, somewhere east of Corsicana. It’s been a rainy year, so the river overflows and the forest is happy. #EastCoastKin #photography
The Trinity River brims after recent rains. The forest encroaches on the banks of the river as the sun sets on the left side of the frame.

I live at the edge of civilization, where the road meets the forest. Nestled in the sprawling woodlands of east Texas, men have dammed a lake. I watch as trees succumb to “progress.” And refuse to surrender. At least for now. #ForestFriday #EastCoastKin #photography #sunset #cedarcreeklake
