After 7+ years building my Chewbacca costume, I decided to share what I learned in a YouTube series. I just posted the first video covering how to make the fursuit. If you’re into cosplay, creature builds, or Wookiees, considering watching. #cosplay #StarWars #Chewbacca #wookie#costume

Update: I just got stopped by a family who said they saw what happened and asked if I got offered a job. 😂

I’m at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and cast member just made me stand back to back with Chewbacca in front of 60+ people just to see who was taller. And they asked if I can come back tomorrow to help fix the Falcon. I said sure! #disneyland #galaxysedge #starwars

I’m a little sad it won’t be in Orlando to give me an excuse to visit the parks out there but am happy because I can wear a bulky costume and not have to worry about flying with it. I’m currently split between making a giant Ewok or a giant Porg. 🤔

That is a good hack on making chainmail pieces. I have just been slaving away on a slow build one ring at a time. I’ll remember that for my next chainmail project (if I don’t get burnt out by this one).

As for community, there just aren’t enough people in my niches that regularly post content yet. To be fair, community is not something you have direct control over. Though, I think having more features like stories/short term content may help because it will entice more users to the platform.

There are some images/videos I want to share that are not things I want to show up on my profile long term. To me, my profile is a curated representation of me, so having a way to share short term content that doesn’t clutter up my profile is valuable to me.

Some of the biggest reasons I am having a hard time dropping Instagram in favor of Flashes are stories and community.

I wish that I could make a list private so I could organize groups like “my friends” without offending anyone.

I didn’t create a new account because it loading who I follow and existing posts I have made, I saw as a positive. I appreciated the ability to use lists because it made it so I could personalize what I wanted to see on flashes, minimizing the negatives of not having multiple accounts.

My KOTOR crew runs deep! A friend asked if I would convert my Chewbacca costume into a Zaalbar for a fun Knights of the Old Republic shoot for @legends-expo.com. I said hell yes! 📷 @bekah.marie.photo and @fragowump on Instagram #starwars #kotor #cosplay #wookiee #zaalbar

The next time I pick a costume with quilting, please someone tell me no.

I started making this costume in December of 2016, and only recently was it approved by the Rebel Legion. It was 100% made my me, took hundreds of hours, was a labor of love, and I am so proud of it! Photos are from a @legends-expo.com photoshoot. 📸 Jeanna Sheen #starwars #cosplay #chewbacca

I guess #Southwest starting to charge us for our first two checked bags means I won’t prefer them over the other airlines. Their biggest strength is gone now.

Wookiee-ing around in the desert at sunset. Over the weekend I got to visit Outpost 77, a recreation of Tatooine including the cantina out in the desert. Great group of people and a lot of fun! 📸 @thatcornerincoruscant on Instagram #starwars #wookiee #chewbacca #cosplay

You know you live in Los Angeles when your neighbor regularly knocks on your door to let you know she will be doing a lot of screaming for an audition and not to worry about it.

Apparently I can’t spell *Wookiee correctly 😝 Give me a break. It’s been a long January.

Is it just me, or does this make birds a lot more scary?

I can’t be the only dev who has had to leave the code comment “I know this looks really bad but I couldn’t find a better way. Please fix if you find a better way!” And years later, no one has found a better way but it still works. #softwareengineering
