@jimmitchell.org the people really want to know, Jim.
GitHub Issue: Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 on every commit is at odds with this being a “hand-written” manifesto #1

The site and README repeatedly celebrate the work as "hand-made", "DIY", and "independent of big, extractive tech." A few examples:

footer: “One hand-written HTML file, marked up with h-entry.”
README: “One hand-written HTML file. No build step, no framework, no bundler...”
Chapter VI: “Keep it handmade. Keep the mohawks.”
Chapter VIII: “We opt out of the surveillance feed... We opt into a web made of small, stubborn, independent spaces...”

Yet the public commit history shows that all commits in this repo are signed Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>, including the initial commit that created “The IndieWeb Is Punk Manifesto.”

Claude is Anthropic’s proprietary LLM, and is the kind of well-funded, centralized corporation the manifesto argues against.

Using an LLM to build an anti-platform, anti-corporate, DIY manifesto is, at minimum, odd. Claiming the page is “hand-written” while depending on genAI looks like hypocrisy. Would you be willing to add a note about the LLM collaboration, or stop calling it hand-written?

r/Calgary is totally fine if you link to the Calgary Herald, which is owned by American hedge fund Chatham Asset Management. But you're not allowed to link to an independent publication run locally by a Calgarian.
Screenshot of a Reddit post in r/Calgary showing a Calgary Herald article about the Calgary Central Library recruiting an AI-focused creative in residence. The post includes an overhead photo of the library's interior atrium with wooden slat walls and visitors on the floor below. The post body quotes the residency details: $50/hour for up to $8,000 over 10 weeks, running June 29 to September 4. A banner reads "You're currently banned from this community and can't comment on posts." The post has 36 upvotes and 21 comments. A pinned moderator comment from xGuru37 notes the post was pre-approved because it wasn't linking to a self-promoted blog.

My article was the top post in /r/Calgary today and was deleted without a reason given.

I'm working on a terminal-based plain-text writing organizer that presents data based on what's in the file's YAML and organizes based on category. Would anybody be interested in something like this?

I've had such a productive and successful first month of the year! 😁 Made 268 commits across 23 repos and shipped 9 new projects. On the writing side, hit nearly 100K presentation impressions and 14K views. Here's to keeping the streak going in February! What have your wins been this past January?

Remember when people were told that if they want a job, they just need to "learn to code"? Lighthouse Labs, Canada''s biggest coding bootcamp, trained 40,000 students. It filed for bankruptcy and terminated every employee overnight. Read the full story here: medium.com/@brennanbrow...
