Marking the 150th anniversary of the rescue of six Fenian leaders from Fremantle Prison by the whaling ship Catalpa. The flag of the Catalpa will be on display at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, on Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th April 2026 only. www.museum.ie/en-IE/Museum...
A large historic American flag is laid flat on a white floor inside a museum gallery, surrounded by photography lighting stands and softbox lights, with wall displays and a mezzanine level visible above.A close view of a large American flag spread on the floor in a museum space, with two people working nearby and studio lights positioned around the flag for documentation.A person stands on a mezzanine operating a camera mounted on a tripod, photographed from below, with ceiling beams and a large fan visible in the background.A historic American flag photographed flat against a white background, showing thirteen stars in the canton and alternating red and off-white stripes, with visible signs of age and wear.

Catalpa 150 - preparing the flag of the Catalpa to commemorate the rescue of 6 Fenians from Fremantle Prison, Western Australia, 1876. At over 4 x 3 metres, we had to photograph it from the balcony. Come see it on Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th April at NMI Collins Barracks, Dublin.

Film about the rescue of the 13 young boys from a cave in Thailand on RTE right now. Such a moving story. Marred by remembering how Elon Musk called one of the rescuers a pedo guy after his stupid idea to send in a wee submarine was rejected. Such is the world we live in.

It's amazing seeing 'Changing Ireland' with its wonderful lighting and audio visuals - we've come so far from the busy prep and installation days in May this year! Here's a glimpse at curators and conservators at work! 💪

A fun and emotional evening returning and seeing my team for the opening of @nmireland.bsky.social Changing Ireland exhibition - the exhibition showcases around 300 objects connected to Ireland's history from 1900-2020. Exciting to see years of hard work come to life!

If I was a person that Nigel Farage would defend I’d bury myself alive.

Happy new year - hoping for a better 2025 for everyone around the world. Well, nearly everyone. There are some I hope never have a day without a stone in their shoe.
