He will never see this, but I want to thank the man at the ticket office in Bath Spa this morning who recommended a ticket via Newport to Manchester. It saved us £150, we got to see a lot of gorgeous countryside, and we got to see a little bit of Wales. You made our day.

Most of the puzzles I get are through a community on discord. Logic Master Germany has a lot of excellent puzzles, but they are for experts mostly. Artisanal Sudoku is one of the best out there with a backlog of free puzzles.

I also just ran this through a computer solver, this puzzle isn’t anywhere close to unique. This is why we almost never touch computer generated sudoku. Quality can be astoundingly poor.

This is a minimalist sudoku. 17 digits is the minimum to make a classic sudoku unique. I expect this will be very hard, if humanable. I will try to have a look when I get home tomorrow.

The Genuinely Approachable Sudoku videos are normally covering multiple more easy puzzles, or look at the shorter videos. The longer ones might be interesting to watch to see how the logic flows. Explore and enjoy (or not, you do you)

Yeah. This looks like what we call an Inference Chain, and we try to avoid ones this long when creating puzzles. Because they aren’t fun for most people.

With the Sudoku YouTube channels (there are many of us) we tend to solve live on camera explaining our logic as we go. We tend to focus on handcrafted sudoku variants, but a lot of classic techniques get covered while we are doing it. Maybe it might help. I am not sure.

As a TTRPG DM who runs a sudoku YouTube channel, I can tell you crossing those streams does not work unless you know your audience. And designing puzzles is hard and very time consuming. Slitherlink puzzles are often a good mix of faster, tricky and easy to make thematic.

Don’t bet on it. The sudoku theorists do a lot of weird exploration. For a classic sudoku you need a minimum of 17 digits to make a unique solvable sudoku, and some of the master setters can make easy puzzles with that number. Then they make really hard ones with over 30 given digits.
