I just peeked in on the Pens / Flyers score and cackled. Nice to see the season off to a good start!

Not gonna lie. I was not prepared for Jerry O'Connell. #neagley

Reacher was good and very enjoyable and worth watching. Three episodes in, Neagley is a show I want to own so I can rewatch whenever the mood strikes. I liked Reacher. I LOVE Neagley. Unexpected considering I'm not typically a fan of storylines involving cults.

Oh no now I want to reread this book DESPERATELY how dare This is such a good thread about the things that make this book wonderful, and lest you think I disagree with the word “perfect”, allow me to introduce my review of this book from six years ago

Breakaway’s 5-star review reads:

*PTERODACTYL SCREECH* I! LOVE! THIS! PERFECT! BOOK!!!!!!
Oh my god I can't even PUT INTO WORDS all the things I love about this book because it is LITERALLY EVERYTHING and would just be the entire book.
Seriously. Every. Single. Thing. (But ESPECIALLY the single best bisexual character I have ever seen in any media EVER. And he's such a hilarious little shit! Bless.
)
I listened to the audiobook at work but I loved this so much I am literally going right now to buy a copy of my very own so I can revel in it again AT LEAST twelve times.

I always forget the gritty color palette/filtering Supernatural employed for the first season. It was super effective. #SPNRewatch

Just plopped down the money for bestie's birthday present in November and hoo boy, I really hope he appreciates this one because that stung a little. 😅 But it's something I've been wanting to do for him forEVER, so thank you LP collection sale for finally making it possible.

Trying to explain to my coworker, who is interested in watching several shows she's never seen including this one, that: No, you never, EVER watch #Supernatural via streaming. NEVER. It's amazing how fucking AWFUL the music swaps were in the streaming version. Always watch the physical media.

You know what, tonight is a night for comfort TV. Time to start the SPN rewatch I’ve been meaning to do for ages.

Asked Boss 1 to look over a message I needed to send correcting someone on a mistake. Boss 2 got ticked off when I refused to use AI to make it sound “nicer”. I hate it here.

Came out of my Reacher watch to discover that Disney+ FINALLY got the second season of Brilliant Minds, so I can sink my teeth into both that and Neagley for the next couple weeks

I am reeeeaaaally not feeling my class tonight. If there was ever a night to skip because of a lack of sleep, surely it's the one about the Iliad, which I have read twice and am very familiar with?

010

Breakaway @breakaway71.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I didn't sleep well, which means I'm exhausted going into this work week, which would be fine if I didn't already know that going into NEXT week is gonna feel even worse. And, yes, I did this to myself (who the hell plans a trip to Florida for ONE DAY to avoid taking any time off work), but also 😭

010

Breakaway @breakaway71.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Okay yes I DID tell myself very firmly that there would be no more third party autograph purchases until after con season was over, but in my defense…

Managed to find a new place, and Air BnB gave me a credit that covered the amount over my previous reservation. First time I've had this happen to me, but it could have been worse.

Today’s mailbox held a special shiny. A James Doohan purchase, which completes my collection of the Star Trek TOS main crew. A collection that took 10 years to complete, starting with William Shatner in 2016. I was lucky enough to acquire 4 of the 7 in person. 🥲

A collection of autographed 8x10 photos including:
William Shatner as James Kirk
Leonard Nimoy as Spock
Nichelle Nichols as Nyota Uhura
George Takei as Hikaru Sulu
Deforest Kelley as Leonard “Bones” McCoy
Walter Koenig as Pavel Checkov
James Doohan as Montgomery Scott

Have just broken my very strict collecting rules and plopped down the money for a private autograph signing for the first time in my life. (Rules state that I only collect autographs in person or TTM, unless a) the actor is deceased, or b) it's a second autograph from someone I've already met.)

Have now watched the last two episodes of Strange New Worlds S4 and can now say with certainty: Fuck the haters, that was a fun season 😁

Breakaway @breakaway71.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

So I just finished watching The Love Interest and I'm actually REALLY annoyed by how charming it was. It's been years since I read the book, which I think helped, but wow I went into this expecting a hate watch and instead I kinda loved it. HOW DARE?

The night was not a loss! Our local AMC had CUPS!! And while I am not generally a theater collector cup person (my bestie is and I usually buy one for him when I can), I made an exception for this glorious thing

The AMC collector’s cup for Star Trek 60th, featuring a holographic image of the Enterprise and a quote from the opening dialogue, and a tiny model Enterprise cup topper

Felt like I was crawling out of my skin earlier so I took myself off to the movies to see Runner. As distractions go, A+! As movies go, uh…well, it certainly was a movie…

Ah yes, love running into new airbnb guests as they are coming inside, while I am at my very frumpiest and trying to get my laundry from the room area they are renting. 😅 At least I was able to help the nice older lady get her crazy heavy bag downstairs though.

Delighted that one of my all time favorites actually made it to the final round 🥲 The Little Mermaid was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I prefer the remake nowadays, but both iterations of this song are flawless.

tl;dr I hope I'll Make A Man Out Of You wins @mousterpiece.bsky.social's entire bracket out of sheer spite at this point.

Breakaway @breakaway71.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

All the people on the Disney song bracket who are whining about I'll Make a Man Our of You beating out so many "great" Disney songs don't have any idea what that song was like for us millennials. Particularly coming out when it did, PARTICULARLY if you were a Disney Channel kid.

The class before my mythology class in this room is biochem. Every time I walk in and see the PowerPoint slides before the professor manages to pack up, I feel something very like PTSD.

A blu-ray copy of The Losers, a great movie that everyone forgot about. EXCEPT FOR ME.

Would I rather have: A Boondock Saints photo op with Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery at Scaradise? OR, an autograph from a Sean Bean private signing? Current budget allows for one. Not both.

Few things frustrate me to try to read more than names of places/people inspired by the French language. I've never been able to wrap my tongue or my brain well around French pronunciation. I realize this is a me flaw, but what I would not give for an audible pronunciation guide sometimes. 😭
