nitter.net is down. xcancel.com may go soon, too. all the respect to the folks at nitter for their services so far, but to be honest, X completely locking itself out of the web is probably a net positive for us all in the long term

Cease and desist
On 24 August 2026 cease and desist letters have been sent by X Corp. demanding a permanent takedown of Nitter instances and the project's repository.

nitter.net is offline and development has stopped for the time being. I'm seeking legal advice and won't be commenting further on the specifics for now.

Thank you to everyone who used, hosted, packaged, donated and contributed to Nitter over the past seven years.

A phishing attack is going on against maintainers on @npmjs.bsky.social, be aware! - email is spoofed from npmjs.org (which doesn’t use DMARC but redirects to npmjs.com) - login link points to npnjs(dot)com (clear giveaway)

Email coming from npmjs.org, looking like an account maintenance notification, prompting the user to log in.

The link to login looks identical to the NPM login, but hosted on npnjs.com

Does anyone why is there banding when using certain modern colors on Chrome? I'm on mac and it only happens on Chrome/Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and safari render it fine. The only related thing I could see was stackoverflow.com/q/78455453/1...
