D&D today, a regular brigand threatened my (angora) harengon swashbuckler with that "You know those furry hand things? My girlfriend has been wanting one of those." My harengon replied "I am unsurprised your girlfriend has developed an inclination for muff." The brigand was unable to retort. 🤣

As an example, you roll 10d10 and get 0,0,2,3,5,5,5,7,8,9 - that's a set of 20, and a set of 35. Two 0s, three 5s. Then you add the bonuses from the skills/combat stats you wish to use, and hope for the best.

Legends of the Wulin has you roll your pool of d10s *first*, then you look for sets (two or more of a kind), and based on how big and how many sets you have, you choose what you do, and how. # of dice for tens, # *on* dice for ones, all bonuses are in increments of 5. Pretty simple, but gets mathy.

I think perhaps something like a "no proselytizing or preaching" rule might serve you better in its place - largely accomplishes the same goal by addressing behaviors, rather than beliefs.

That said, FFG's Star Wars/Genesys is a great system for this issue - you roll successes *and* failures together, tally up the totals, and whether you succeed or fail, something secondary happens - the plot never gets stuck on a bad dice roll. There's always more consequences, good or bad.

I note that Gary Gygax commented on the issue, that players with clever thinking and preparation should succeed, what, 80% or more of the time with average rolls? Putting the entire success/failure on a single die roll is bad design. (1/2)

Working as a printer, holy crap, yes. I've seen a *few* instances where more than three fonts was... tolerable, but those were 2'x3' (give or take) posters with different band logos, not different bits of regular text in different fonts. I do not count bold or italic as separate fonts for this.
