Not to defend Rudy G but that was a very silly but slightly more defensible case of "announced a press conference at the Four Seasons before checking if it was available and then had to figure something out". This is so much dumber.

Shit, that guy is Aella-adjacent? i think I remember reading some of his stuff

Or they're just different photos. Not saying there isn't something dumb going on but I don't think they artificially changed the entire photo

Not angry and I have seen this myself from a number of iphone users 🤷‍♂️

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
Idk, "will other people be impressed by it?" isn't the main question I ask myself when buying a phone but I get the impression iPhone users are more socially influenced on this kind of thing.

Every camera app including Apple's is doing significant digital processing on your photos.

I mean the "100% AI" should be your first clue

AI detectors are snake oil, Max. They don't and can't work.

So what? It's not a thing basically anyone heard about and literally nobody experienced it. Normies who weren't following crypto hype didn't see those announcements and they definitely didn't log into prime to do some shopping and get pushed to try an NFT marketplace.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Interesting! I thought it was in case one was messed up they still had twelve to sell.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
And actually I gave you credit you extra undeserved credit on "Amazon was working on minting NFTs". I don't see any evidence it ever even launched.

Like if you think what you listed are examples of "Big Tech pushing crypto" we are just going to have to agree to disagree. That's not pushing, that's following with the very babiest of steps.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Do you see where my first post here says that Zuck was big on that stuff? Try harder.
100
Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
This was the frustrating thing about being a software guy in that period and since. Most real tech workers were not big on crypto and especially web3 because it obviously didn't make sense if you know how software works, but people seem to lump anything 'tech' into one big group.
000
Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Yeah, basically nobody in Bit Tech proper was gung ho about it except Zuck because he was casting about for something to make FB relevant. Everyone else very cautiously trailed the hype train, because it largely didn't make sense.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
So, more Facebook, something it looks like Amazon released two years after the crypto hype peak and basically no one even heard about, an incredibly minor Twitter feature, and something Musk claimed X was going to do but hasn't.

E-bikes, cheap solar, and electric cars are kind of a big deal though!

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
You would certainly have seen a whole lot of crypto hype on social media but Big Tech specifically largely stayed away from it. Like, the biggest pushers of NFTs and meme coins were probably some of your classmates along with randos on twitter.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
I think there's a kernel of truth here but it's real messy. If you're 25 you probably used Google for 10 years or more before genAI was added. Your first experience with Meta was almost certainly Instagram, which young people still like along with TikTok, which they *love*.

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
I don't know how young people experience it but it's just factually untrue that Big Tech pushed crypto and metaverse. Big Tech largely stayed out of crypto and Metaverse was entirely Zuckerberg, although how many people even experienced it?

It's simultaneously true that: 1) the average guy struggling to attract women will do better if he puts on some muscle 2) that's not the only way to do better 3) many women will not care 4) even for the women who are into there's a point where it's less attractive

If I'm understanding this right, no, it's not just a query. It can't just query previous visit records and see if anyone checked the aspiration risk box, it's looking at notes fields for things that could be worded a bunch of different ways. Not possible without flexible natural language processing.

Original Moana: also bangers. They hired some other writers for 2 and it's got the same overall vibe but just doesn't work as well.

Are you suggesting the major trends in tech have been what TLDs were popular?

A student struggling to understand something in a textbook can ask an AI tool to explain it a different way. Completing the work isn't the only thing you can ask an AI tool to do.

The point of the OP is lots of people point to cyclists sometimes breaking rules as reasons to oppose creating bike infrastructure. Your replies in this thread make it appear that you might agree with that position.
000
Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
Do bike lanes somehow make pedestrians less safe? Your arguments here aren't making any sense to me.
000
Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
Bicycles are unquestionably safer for everyone than cars, though.

Can you provide examples of people saying that anyone who drives to the grocery store is a "bloodthirsty murderer"?

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
"cars are dangerous" and "all drivers are murderers" feel like rather different statements to me but your, uh, mileage may vary I guess

Is he AI-paranoid to the point that he's assuming it's in documentaries because he hasn't noticed the advances in nature photography over the last 20 years? The Attenborough line is weird.

"That’s an argument that needs to be sold then" is how you communicate that you're questioning your assumptions and willing to learn more?

Well, it turns out they can cause anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide, although that's relatively rare and shows up very quickly rather than years down the line (ask me how I know!)

They've started doing some in Minneapolis that are basically just a different color of sidewalk. Lots of people are completely oblivious to it and wander in and out of the bike path. It's pretty bad.

I watched it on an airplane and recall enjoying it!

Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 12/08/2026
I'm sure this is part of it but I *have* actually seen people I know on Threads and some various internet celebrity (blogger, etc) accounts I know there. I think it may actually be on its way to the default normie text-based social media app (even if that means smaller numbers than old twitter)
000
Morgan @brawnvivant.bsky.social · 10/08/2026
And I really don't care because I'm already over it. No Way Home (which I watched on an airplane rather than in a theater) was a hot mess of a script where essentially none of the major plot points made sense.
