She gives me the ick. She's completely unlikable, and her story sucks.

Nah there's definitely copium. They hold onto this fallacy that AI will help them improve and do things that they were too lazy or had no confidence in doing before. When in reality AI actively hinders them, and they can improve without it, they just don't want to put in the effort.

AI bros really did huff every last ounce of the delulu copium gas didn't they?

I bought the game as a birthday gift for a friend. But that friend also coincidently bought it for my for my birthday which is pretty close to theirs. So we kept our respective copies, and after trying it out, I liked it way more than I thought I would.

Wanna play Fire Emblem. Gotta play Yo-Kai Watch. I'll be starting up stream here in a bit. But imma eat first.

Random take that no one asked for: I kinda feel the ick when I see characters shipped with others who are not their canon partner. I know they're fictional, but as someone who vehemently hates cheating, seeing characters paired with someone other than their partner makes me pretty uncomfortable.

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

But I'm going to keep my expectations low here, and just assume that GenAI will be in it until it's confirmed otherwise. No point in hyping myself up over something I really want, only to not end up buying it because it includes practices that I can't agree with.

050

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

That's my biggest fear, because we do want more Yo-Kai Watch games, we just don't want GenAI in them at all. Best case scenario is that there is not GenAI, and we'll be able to play a definitive version of Yo-Kai Watch 2 with new graphics and additional content.

160

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Something tells me that if there is AI in it, and if it sells poor because consumers do not want to support a game with GenAI in it, Level-5 will delude themselves into thinking that the game did bad because no-one wants YKW, not because of the GenAI, and ultimately give up on the series as a whole.

140

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Here's what scares me though, I have a feeling that Level-5 is using this remake as a way to gauge interest in the series, to see if people still want more Yo-Kai games.

130

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

If this remake of Yo-Kai Watch 2 ends up having GenAI within it, then I cannot not support it and will not be getting it, and I assume a lot of people will be doing the same what with how unpopular GenAI is.

130

BrawlFan1 @brawlfan1.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

The thing that shocked/excited me most from this direct was seeing that Yo-Kai Watch was not only still alive, but coming back to the West. But I have major concerns, and that relates back to Level-5's insistence to use GenAI in their products. #YoKaiWatch #YoKaiWatch2 #YoKaiWatch2HauntedDomain
