It's a never ending cycle a lot of us don't know how to break out of and unfortunately this kind of "advice" doesn't do anything but push us further in to isolation. Why? Because this makes it sound like they are a burden and that is exactly what is in our heads.

And that's okay, I recognize that my friends have lives and they are busy, but I'm also very hyper aware to clock not just interest, but indifference to my presence. Indifference is just as painful as rejection because it feels like they don't even care enough to dislike you.

Much of what you suggested sounds like you are pointing them in directions to go alone to find people, but I think you're missing the "alone" part and how that may be effecting the person. I'm not saying you have to be the one to facilitate it all, but at least recognize that you aren't the only-
