Apropos of nothing, I find myself saying “Baby Jane Doe” to myself a lot. Yes, with the accent.

Lauren Westerfield’s new memoir, “Woman House” is a fantastic fragmented read that tumbles into intimacy, memory, and emotional truth. I had the chance to talk craft, truth, and vulnerability with Lauren. Check out our interview here:

I need multiple litmags to report in on whether they’re finding BlueSky is getting similar engagement to literary twitter. I *really* want to get 3cents off twitter so I never need to see it again..

Writing a book proposal feels like online dating. Be engaging, but don’t come on too strong. Show you have a creative side, but also be serious. Show you’re well read, but don’t name drop really “important” books. Most importantly, don’t ever hint that you just want someone to love you.

Let’s give this a shot. I’m Brandon. I’m a CNF writer, developmental editor, writing professor, founder of www.3centsMagazine.com & a managing editor at TrueMag.org. Would love to see literary twitter migrate somewhere new, so hit me up if you’re here for that too.
