Playing around with more sketchy stuff. Looking at stuff like Root and Night in the Woods for inspiration #sketch #doodle #kidlitart

Inktober 13! Rise. This is one area where mice have horses beat. I'm amazed those kids don't strap in or have really aggressive stirrups 😂

Inktober 11! Wander. Not a huge fan of this one, but win some lose some!

Inktober 10! Fortune. A bunny fortune. It's carrots. It's always carrots.

Happy #kidlitartpostcard day! I'm a freelance illustrator from BC who just finished his first book (wrote and illustrated!) I also just learned that I get to write and illustrate two more! Hooray!

Inktober 4: Dodge! I'm pretty sure a riding mouse would be pretty skittish.

Inktober 3! Giant rodents. Giant rodents everywhere. But, like, in a good way.

inktober day 2! It's either relocate the spiders or deal with all the bird carcasses left behind in the ears. Gross.

Anyone else remember puking/peeing/fluiding your clean clothes at school and the only clothing in the lost and found being terrible, awful, nasty, sometimes incredibly brightly coloured rags that you REALLY didn't wanna wear?

Monsieur Lambert. Friendly Quebecois custodian. Very tall. Secretly a highlander, no doubt.

I don't think his middle name is mentioned in the book anymore, but here's Teddy and evil Teddy. Dealing with brain eating hamsters is hard enough without clinical anxiety and an evil doodle in your head.

The other poor unfortunate souls of Ravensbarrow Elementary. Also hamsters. Because hamsters. Mmmmm hamsters.

Poor, poor Duggy. Surrounded by evil hamsters and older kids who enjoy messing with him. I'm pretty sure this sketch scene had an effect on the kids' relationships through the whole book 😆

The other "heroes" that must survive hamsterocalypse. Duggy likes puppets. Puppets are awesome. The final design for Tienna is a tad less... Manic. #kidlitart #kidlit #kidlitillustration #middlegradebooks #characterdesign

Hey! It's not twitter! I'm a freelance writer/illustrator of the upcoming series Secrets of Ravensbarrow (featuring an infestation of monstrous flesh eating hamsters!) Nice to be here! #kidlitart #kidlit #kidlitillustration
