Fun little thing with the new Reader/Writer interfaces in Zig. Streaming the contents of a Reader into a Writer while omitting the line that starts with a value (`self.value`). Feels clean to me, but I'm ready to be humbled. is there a better way?
An image of zig code with the following syntax:

pub fn deleteBookmark(
self: Bookmark, writer: *std.Io.Writer, reader: std. Io. Reader,
)
while (!std.mem.eqlu8, reader.peek(self.value.len), self.value))
reader. streamDelimiter(writer, "\n");
reader streamRemaining (writer);
}

This is my Zig trick of the week. Doing this in your main or root.zig will make sure that when you run zig build test, all of your tests will run (some exceptions apply -- tests inside of a struct for example). zig build test not running all tests drove me crazy. Here's my fix.
An image of code in the Zig programming language. The file assumes to be a main.zig or root.zig with the key element being a test block at the bottom of the file who's only line of code is std.testing.refAllDecls(@This());

Shoeyyyy! I am already tired of typing this. 😆
Zig code using the new pattern for writing to standard out. Involves creating a buffer, creating. stdout writer, and grabbing the interface from the writer to get a handle to stdout.

I had an awesome time at Gophercon and am so grateful to the new connections made! Thank you all; I’ll see ya’ next time!
The main event room for Gophercon 2025. A large screen presents the Gophercon logo in a dark room with many-colored lights“Welcome Gophers” sign. The sign itself is an illustration of Gophers in New York doing stereotypical New York things. For example, a Gophers is driving a taxi, there is a billboard for the Broadway play “Wicked” but the characters have been replaced with Gophers.

Hit my first payout as a YouTube partner. Only seems fitting to give it back to the Zig Software Foundation. More corporations should fund open source software, and while I can’t make that happen, I can take their ad money and put it to a good cause.
Two images side by side. The left is a screenshot from YouTube studio, indicating a content creator payout for $101.99. The right is a screenshot of donation history to the Zig Software Foundation, dated 3/20/2025. The donation total is $104, with $102 going to the Zig Software Foundation and $2 going to Every.org (the donation platform used by the Zig Software Foundation).

Nice little Easter egg while reading through some docs 😁
Zig code including a function for setting up user data, which includes adding users to a map. One such user has the first name of “Your” and the last name of “Mom”.

This may sound silly, but I’m very proud of the “No unresponded comments” piece.
Cropped screenshot of YouTube studio showcasing channel analytics for the CodeWithCypert channel, which has 84 comments in the past 28 days and no unresponded comments.
