I’ve been car free for 35 years…. It helps being in London of course where public transport is so good (although we all complain)…

Just waiting for Hegseth and co to realise they could monetise the public execution by making it pay to view… Next logical step? It would give them the details of people they’d like to recruit for their ‘stasi’ type operation…. Odds anyone?

Hegseth is a psycho… Really America? Can you have slid so far so fast? What’s the Halloween treat you are saving for the world?

Alex CofC @bqosbear.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Trouble is ‘America will be over’ by then too… at least for a few generations…

A (Joan Hickson) Miss Marple revisit tonight- A murder is announced! Someone gets shot at. bullet hits the right ear and produces a lot of blood… a plaster is put on it. Reminded me of something … but the villagers didn’t then support sympathetic ear plasters. Agatha C did realism… Oh!!

I’m rather pleased to say I’ve kept my old collection of dvds and cds as I always felt wary of the potential for abuse of streaming … so I want need to buy it all again!!

I’ve had the same approaches… I’m ignoring them for now… But I am thinking of closing my remaining Barclays accounts despite having banked with them for decades…

That sounds very Rodney Milnes! He was a very funny and very gentle man whose absence is still felt to this day by his friends…

Christmas cake baked! Will need regular anointing (as will the baker) before the decorating begins in mid/late December. Might need a back-up bake (or several) methinks…

I noticed that those tiny little tins of tuna (in multipacks) you could buy have shrunk to invisibility size… The larger ones are now smaller… So they will soon introduce a max size (smaller than the original large…

One amazing actress elaborated so much in a spellbinding, emotional and bravura performance. So many of the medical aspects mentioned above were addressed with an unerring directness, but also local cultural conventions such as the caste system, arranged marriages and so much more.

Toxicologists and physicians learn about it in the context of major disaster training to this day. I have lectured on it. Today I saw the play ‘Darkling’ at the Bush Theatre. It tells the life story of one young woman caught up in the disaster. One person’s tragedy amidst a larger one.

The political and accountability aspects remain shrouded and unresolved. It is an example of why industrial safety legislation is so important. The final death toll (including related post event mortality) was / is well over 20,000 people.

I was a toxicologist in my professional life for some 35 years until I retired from it for other adventures! The Bhopal incident, which occurred on 2/12/1984, is an event I’ve known of all my working life. It has medical and environmental repercussions to this day.
