Today we're sharing our guide for adding audio name badges and pronunciation guides to email signatures, promoted by the #SayMyName project which aims to improve equality, diversity, and broader discussions about respecting culturally diverse identities and de-colonising higher ed./academia!
The image has a dark purple background and is titled "inclusive profiles" in large white letters at the top left corner. Beneath it, a subtitle reads, "how to add an audio name badge and pronunciation guide to your email signature" in smaller white letters. At the top right, a hashtag reads "#technology for equality, diversity and inclusion" in white capital letters. Below the subtitle is the text "1. setting up an audio name badge using name coach" in smaller white letters. Underneath, there is a graphic of a document with the logo and text for "namecoach," which features a purple icon resembling a speech bubble and the tagline "name pronunciations in the tools you love." A web address "https://cloud.name-coach.com" is provided to the right of the logo. In the bottom left corner is the logo and text for "the british psychological society cyberpsychology section" in white. The background is dark purple with white text and images of two screenshots from the Name Coach website. The first screenshot shows the homepage for "Name Coach" with the navigation bar at the top. The dropdown menu under "Our Services" is displayed, showing options such as Business, Education, and Personal Namebadge. The second screenshot, positioned below the first, shows the section for creating a personal Namebadge. A purple button labeled "Get your Namebadge" is highlighted. Instructions are listed to the left of the screenshots in white text, detailing steps to navigate the website. An orange arrow connects the steps with the corresponding sections of the screenshots. Instruction text reads:
1. Go to the Name Coach website
2.Go to 'Our Services' from the homepage ribbon
3. Select 'Personal Name Badge' from the drop down menu
4. Click 'Get my name badge'. You'll then be presented with a form...The image has a dark blue background with white text instructions in the upper section. It guides users on how to complete a form, with an emphasis on recording a name badge pronunciation. A small section at the bottom right contains a screenshot demonstrating the interface for recording name pronunciations with options such as using a phone, web recorder, or file uploader. Instructions for recording a name badge pronunciation with options, text reads:
5. Complete the form as required, and then at the end of this you can record your name badge
As well as recording your name badge, you can also add pronouns and the phonetic spelling of your name (optional)
At the end of the form you can record your name badge in one of three ways

Three buttons on screenshot of form are highlighted, they read: Phone. Web Recorder. Uploader. The image is divided into two main sections, each illustrating instructions for recording a name badge on a website. The left side is a text block with steps and instructions. The right side shows two screenshots from the website interface. In the text block on the left, a step-by-step guide details how to record your name badge using a ‘Web Recorder’ or upload an audio file. The top right screenshot shows a selection interface with options labeled "Phone," "Web Recorder," and "Uploader." The "Web Recorder" is selected, marked with a red arrow. Below is a recording interface with a timer and a "Record" button marked with a red arrow.
The bottom right screenshot displays the "Uploader" option selected, pointed out by a pink arrow. Below is an upload area with dashed borders, instructing users to drag a file or “Browse for file." It supports ".mp3," ".mp4," ".m4a," and ".wav" file formats.

Instruction text reads:
6. Record your name badge
* To record your name badge directly via the website, select ‘Web Recorder’ and follow the instructions on the site (see top right image).
* If you prefer, you can upload an audio file of your name pronunciation instead - meaning you can use text-to-speech tools to create the audio for you.To do this, select ‘Uploader’ and upload your audio file into the drag and drop area (see bottom right image).
* You can listen to your recording and re-record as needed.
7. Once you have completed your recording click ‘Submit’ and finish to see the Name Coach dashboard with your name badge

The image presents a slide about "Formatting: The Three Levels." The background is off-white with predominantly purple and blue text. At the top, a bold, large title reads "Formatting: The Three Levels" in purple. Below the title, there are bullet points explaining the three-levels model as a structural principle.

The slide includes an example framed in a thin black border. The example contains:

A main title "This is a Section Title" in large, bold blue text.
Two subheadings in purple: "This is a subheading" and "This is another subheading."
Body text beneath each subheading in smaller, black font, explaining structural writing with sections and sub-sections.
In the bottom left corner, a small illustration of a person holds a pen and book while kneeling.

Alt-text:

Slide showing text about formatting with a three-levels model, including titles, subheadings, and body text examples in different colors and sizes.

Transcribed Text:

Formatting: The Three Levels

The three-levels model is a structural principle based around three levels of text: title(s), sub-headings and body content
If you design three distinctive appearances for these (e.g., sizes, colour, bold), it helps the reader find their way around the content
Example...

This is a Section Title

This is a subheading
This is some body-text. Most of the writing on your poster will be body-text, naturally. But that text can be broken up into sections (e.g., boxes) and then further sub-divided into sub-sections. This is a fairly basic example but it gives an idea.

This is another subheading
And this is some more body-text. All three levels of text in this example are using the same font (Helvetica) - but with different weights, different colours, and different sizes.
