New investigation by @theguardian.com uncovers strong links between Saudi government – a top oil producer – and the IPCC. At least a dozen IPCC lead authors are employed by or tied to Saudi oil and gas interests. Experts describe conflict of interest policy as "not fit for purpose". buff.ly/bFb6e3N

Welcome news that a Mozambican court has ordered the return of investigative journalist Estacio Valoi’s devices – not so good that he’s being made to jump through hoops to collect them. @globalfreemedia.bsky.social @clidef.bsky.social #SLAPPS #PressFreedom 👇️ buff.ly/JcMChTI buff.ly/uqxlNJb

Nigeria's courts have prioritised pre-election disputes over a whistleblower's freedom. Nnamdi Emeh's trial has been marred by endless delays in a case that raises profound questions about the respect for due process and the rule of law. @pplaaf.bsky.social @theicir.bsky.social buff.ly/T8b8NpD

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse at KPMG Australia. The audit firm's new chair, who was tasked with "addressing integrity issues and rebuilding trust" has been outed for trashing the whistleblower who exposed the rot in the first place. #KPMG #Whistleblowing buff.ly/97QxBtI

The tools we build protect journalists and human rights defenders from surveillance and censorship. What if funding them wasn't driven by a small number of large donors, but by how many people showed up? Will YOU show up? May 19 #FundInternetFreedom @torproject.org @openarchive.bsky.social

Ireland has reformed its defamation law. Companies must show serious harm, there's a live broadcast defence, and public interest defence is simplified. Further legislation is planned to introduce stronger anti-SLAPP measures and prevent abusive court proceedings 👇 buff.ly/oqfM4pn
