This is unprofessional on every level. The press is running around asking a 50-something doper that never won a single world tour bike race his sour grapes opinion. Just shameful behavior all around. Hey Mike, know what Brandon gets? He gets to wear that jersey for a year, suck it.

The Bontrager/Trek Flare RT bike tail light that I bought in Dec '19 gave up the ghost today. That thing was a trooper...definitely getting another.

If other male cyclists had won the World Championship race, it would have been seen as a sign of their greatness.

“I tried to tell Remco to still go for it” - Wout van Aert pays for early attack as Belgium's star duo disappoint in World Championship road race
Wout van Aert spent the closing laps of the World Championship road race crawling towards the finish, a long way from the front of a race he had helped tear open earlier in the day. Belgium had come....

It's odd how this race, with 140 starters for the full length including 9 UCI elites, found its way to the UCI calendar.

The US Gravel National championship was won on a Trek Domane, which is pretty damning proof that the race should never again happen in the Central or Eastern time zones.

People need to participate. Yes, Lifetime is using the entire spectrum of events that they do to advertise for their core business, but if people want these events to survive, they need to show up...because it won't just be Lifetime pulling back from bike racing, it'll be everyone.

Been a while since you spent way too much on valve stems? It's quite ingenious to just say that it can't be cleaned because it won't need to be cleaned. Problem solved!

Saw some Canadians in uniform at the Nellis Commissary and wondered how this clown show is being talked about. There's quite a few Canadians stationed at US bases...and everyone is supposed to act like nothing is happening instead of everyone noting that Trump is an idiot?

Was reading an article about the new 13-speed Dura Ace and apparently it's bad because it's black and has a wire that allows it to have double the battery life of AXS. (Triple if you use a wire from the shifter to the junction box)

Me thinking I should switch back from Roka to Oakley sunglasses was ended abruptly by noticing the $300 price tag on a set of Radar Path something-or-other. They were always great, best at what they do, but those prices... Know what, a little distortion is ok.

Saw a thing recently from Allen Lim from Scratch Labs saying that "training your gut" isn't a thing, being able to "stomach" whatever you're using and changing that if you can't, is. It's interesting how that contradicts so much guidance from (broadly speaking) "cycling influencers."

Scrolling YouTube and I saw a video about "Top Bike Fit Trends," and it's all right there..."trends." Surprised they're actually holding the Tour de Femmes since according to big bike fit, all the women's bikes are supposed to be rendered unridable by handlebar and brake hood width restrictions

I've always been a little skeptical of big sodium for the simple fact that unless you're avoiding it, you probably get more than you should from your normal diet as it stands. ...and I'm not going to home make my own carb drink, but anyone can toss some salt in their drinks for basically free.

I've been hearing about the importance of close gear ratios since the dawn of time, yet here we are with 11-36 cassettes on TT bikes. Also 1x with XPLR cassettes (which is for road, not gravel).

The funny thing about the bicycle helmet discourse is that urban cyclists say that only sport/fitness/whatever riders need to wear helmets, while the latter avoid urban cycling as much as possible due to the dangers of that environment.

Listening to cycling training podcasts, I'm always amazed by the emphasis on "the group ride" as a performance metric. How about everyone stops acting like kids in beat up Civics playing stoplight grand prix and either ride TOGETHER, or sign up for an actual race?

Bit the bullet and got a smaller chain ring for the big climbs in the Crusher in the Tushar gravel bike race in Utah coming up in a couple weeks...and they canceled it that evening because of forest fires in the area.

Listening to another cycling podcast where they emphasize "getting into a good group" at the start of a gravel race.... That's a great idea if you're going for the overall win, horrible if you're not. The former can't get sucked into an unsustainable pace. The latter can, and do...and pay for it

I'm gonna stop you right here, the lever pulling to the bar isn't a "wandering bite point." That, my friends, is "My fucking brakes don't work!" Is this actually a thing? The only bike I bought with SRAM brakes didn't leave the house until it had Shimano brakes.
