I will say that I did finally find an answer as to why M rated chapters were being skipped over. Bot views. The bots are not set up to view mature content, so they skip it. Now this begs the question of how many of the views I get on tapas are genuine...

I've got a spreadsheet going to keep track of uploads for my wn. Ngl it is a little taxing to manage this many avenues which was why I stopped uploading to the platforms I was getting the least engagement. I think tapas might be next. I'm getting views but they don't seem to translate to reads.

All the different sites seem to measure different stats. I found this one from WebNovel most interesting because a big consideration for posting to these platforms is the best time to post for max visibility. I applied this to other sites and found that my views increased when posted at these times.

Tapas allows you to mark things as mature on a by-chapter basis. Their content guidelines require you to mark something as mature if it contains anything in the screenshot below. It's a little outrageous imho to designate some of these as 18+ but whatever, I'm not going to censor myself to avoid it

It's only a few days into my experiment, so I don't have any meaningful data yet, but I am very interested to know how Wattpad's analytics work. How is my story ranking in these tags when it only has 2 (two) views? Is it from the rate at which I am releasing chapters?

Okay so two mildly infuriating things I've encountered in this process so far, just in the stages of getting my novel set up on different platforms: 1) I get why RR does this. But it's a huge PITA for me & maybe not worth it. 2) WN is forcing me to crop my cover??? wtf is this aspect ratio???
