🏔️ ⬅️ Deep upslope flow is present over the Front Range today with thick clouds blanketing the area, but will it actually rain? Best chance of a light pavement wetting through the afternoon and evening remains south of I-70... #cowx #denver #weather

Today’s *Premium* storm update breaks down how this once‑promising setup unraveled, why southern Colorado is now squarely in the bullseye and what scraps of moisture the Front Range can still squeeze out as the system passes by to our south: bouldercast.com/storm-update... #COwx #Denver

It's better to have had the chance of rain and lost it than to never have had the chance at all.

New rainfall projections are in for the Boulder-Denver area. Beneficial rain is nearly off the table now. Best chance to see rain is south of I-70 Wednesday afternoon and evening. Further north and west you are, the greater the chance you may be skipped entirely. #COWX

TUESDAY 9/29 3:00PM UPDATE: Goodbye, Flood Watches! It's not often you see a Flood Watch cancelled, but that's how this storm is going. The four zones closest to Denver have been dropped as the big, wet Southwest soaker trends further southeast away from the Front Range. #COWX #Colorado #denver

📉 Another storm collapse seems imminent for the Front Range as the more southern track of #Polo's remnant low appears favored. The trusty Euro model was one of the few showing a deluge in #Denver all along. It's now joined the drier crowd in its last few runs. #COWX #Colorado

No, but we'll need to watch backdoor cold fronts early in October. It only takes one decent dry front to come into the middle of the country and we could see a single morning of frost this time of year.

That said, there's still an almost comical amount of model uncertainty in rainfall amounts for the Denver-Boulder area, from 3 drops to 3 inches, which will land on the northern fringe of the storm near or within a very sharp gradient in rainfall potential.

The good news? The forecast gets considerably quieter late week, with drier weather and warming temperatures returning by Thursday and Friday. This first week or two of October will feature rather mild, mundane weather as this impressive late-season monsoon finally calls it quits to 2026☀️

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 28/09/2026
Southern Colorado has a much higher confidence of significant rainfall (and flooding), while the Front Range could see a wide range of outcomes. A sharp cooldown is also expected, with temperatures dropping 10–15 degrees below normal by midweek.

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 28/09/2026
For Boulder and Denver, the big question is how much rain we actually get. Forecast guidance remains all over the place, with the eventual track and interaction of these systems determining whether we see a soaking rain or something more modest.

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 28/09/2026
A complicated weather pattern is taking shape across Colorado this week as a deep low pressure system dives into the Southwest and interacts with the remnants of Hurricane Polo. That combination will pull an unusually deep plume of tropical moisture northward into eastern Colorado.

🌀 Rachel (Not Formed Yet): High chance a new tropical cyclone will form in the wake of Polo early next week from a promising tropical wave. It would follow a similar track paralleling the coast towards or into the Baja.

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 24/09/2026
🌀 Polo (155 MPH Cat 4): Big rain today on the Mexican coast, before heading away from shore and eventually making a hard turn back into the Baja, making landfall as a Cat 2 or 3 hurricane on Monday. Remnant moisture may funnel into the SW USA early to middle of next week (Colorado included)

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 24/09/2026
🌀 Odalys (90MPH Cat 1): Expected to remain weak hurricane and weak eventually early next week offshore. No real impact other than helping to steer Polo towards the Baja via a Fujiwhara interaction.

BoulderCAST Weather 🏔️⛈️ @bouldercast.com · 24/09/2026
🌀 TS Nolo (60MPH): Expected to become major hurricane just skirting south of Hawaii. Huge impacts on the Big Island with 10 to 25 inches of rain, locally up to 35 inches. And huge surf.
