this doesn't sound like saving journalism

Georges embraces AI contracts to ‘save journalism’

Georges bought The Advocate in 2013, and then The Times-Picayune in 2019. To rally the business, he embraced new strategies, like establishing a metered paywall for digital articles and returning the Times-Picayune print edition to daily editions that cover all of Louisiana.

In the acquisition, the entire 161-person staff of NOLA.com, the joint web platform of the Times-Picayune and the Advocate, was laid off. Roughly 10 journalists and 12 other staffers ended up at the Advocate. Georges said the papers’ number of employees across the five outlets under Georges Media Group has declined from its peak by two thirds, to around 450. His retention strategy is for Times-Picayune staff to be “overpaid so you didn’t leave” and get “bonuses every year.” Staff reporters said they usually receive a Rouses Supermarkets gift card for the holidays.

i wrote out this whole fucking thing and then realized i could just look at the announcement trailer again it's just pokelatin

i was watching a video talking somewhat about the "pokelatin" letters that the games have been using since SV and the only places that don't use it are the japan-based regions (hisui and kitakami), which has its own kanji-looking thing

which makes me wonder if we'll see pokemon javanese or something in wiwa, or if they'll just continue using pokelatin like regular ass indonesian uses latin

scapewatch came out last friday, one of those osrs type idle games. logged in and let it catch up on offline progress. and then suddenly everyone was mooing at me? ... i think i used up all my luck for at least a month

people in chat mooing at me and apparently this is the second one? i'm not sure if that means this morning or in the entire 3-4 days the game has been out

okay i did figure it out ikizu-live and sixtones had their concerts next door to each other and i guess the girlies came to check it out? the wotas liked their fireworks tho and now everyone's being chill and listening to each other's songs

original tweet: The neighboring SixTONES' fireworks performance has the otaku all hyped up (lol)

QRT: I was wondering what kind of circles these folks were from, and when I checked their timeline, it's the "Hard to Live Department"!?

A station, maybe? On the posted guidance notice, there was this "Hard to Live Department" mentioned alongside SixTONES— turns out it's the name of a Love Live! concert, huh!?

I thought it was the name of the department in charge of guidance...

Make it more prominent, please!! 😂

I was surprised when cross-cultural exchange happened between Idolmaster and Love Live at the Other Dimension Fest, but unlike that time when both stood on the same stage, the fact that SixTONES and Iki Zurabu happened to perform live at the adjacent venue for two days straight by pure chance became the trigger for their cross-cultural exchange, and it's just too hilarious.

No one could've imagined a timeline like this coming to pass before the live shows, right?

I'm thrilled that among SixTONES fans,
someone who attended the Chofu live show has taken an interest in the Love Live! series through our interactions there. Since the opportunity's arisen, I'll make an introduction myself.
The musician
"Carlos K.,"
who's involved with both franchises.
The Love Live! series is packed with masterpieces, so I hope you'll give it a listen!

The other day, since we were neighboring event sites, there was this great mix on SNS of the Love Live! Ikinokori-bu and SixTONES folks being considerate to each other, sometimes even proselytizing back and forth—it was all jumbled together in the best way.

Honestly, with X's algorithm right now, it's not weird that critical comments could pop up in the feed, but there weren't any at all.

People chasing what they love are just so cool and tolerant, you know?

I couldn't make it to the event, but thanks for letting me see this beautiful side of things.

trying to figure out why there are so many sixtones fans on the new love live song comments and i'm not sure i figured it out but i did find this

In fact, since men also grew up watching Kamen Rider and similar shows, they'll probably enjoy Hypnosis Mic, which has a high affinity with content featuring handsome men.
