Really enjoying my yellow roses this weekend. Believe it or not, I got them at low-cost Winco. $14 for a full dozen roses.

My younger grandgirl (high school) had to do a controversial political cartoon for a class. I’m so proud of her.

Cartoon shows two panes. In the first is the Statue of Liberty. At the top of the pane is the word “Expectation.”An inscription below the statue reads “Freedom for all.” In the second pane, the Statue of Liberty stands mostly obscured by a brick wall. On the wall is inscribed “No immigrants.” At the top of the pane is the word “Reality.”

@lkcreations.art Set up a “cat corner” yesterday. New cat tree at the end of the sofa. Put up your gorgeous artwork. And put up a plaque we got at Dollywood a million years ago. It reads, “If you want the best seat in the house, you’ll have to move the cat.”

Photo shows the upper portion of a light gray cat tree. To the left, is a framed piece of art showing a landscape inked within the shape of a cat. Under that is a blue/gray plaque in the shape of a cat. I love this rose variety. Bonica. It’s a shrub/landscape rose. Planted from a bare root late Spring, she has been a prolific bloomer. When she’s full size, she’ll be glorious! Planted my newest rose. So tired of digging rose holes. However, I found space for one more full sun rose. #shopping

A recommendation for plant lovers. I had an office plant that wasn’t doing well. I tried a couple of things, but they didn’t help. So I downloaded the app Plantum (icon below) & tried it (in free mode). It identified my plant, diagnosed it, and told me the steps to help it. That was a few weeks ago,

Apparently it’s part of a campaign featuring Korean performer Karina. It’s called “Stars Align With Karina” and is supposed to feature the Converse star projected onto the performer. Either this particular image was intentional, or Converse has gone anti-DEI and has no black Americans in marketing.

The Chuck 70 X launched globally on Aug. 27 with a campaign starring KARINA of the K-pop group aespa. Dubbed “Stars Align With KARINA,” the campaign plays with Converse’s famous five-pointed star, projecting it across KARINA and her clothing in several images.

The image in question shows KARINA wearing an oversized white skirt, gray socks, and Converse, holding another pair of sneakers at her side. A shadow of the Converse star falls across her body, with one pointed tip stretching up the white fabric of her skirt. Many people say the composition of it all resembles the infamous white pointed hood of a Klansman.

I love this rose! Even as a very young shrub, just planted from a bare root in late Spring, she is a prolific bloomer. She’s a partial shade shrub rose. When she’s full size & covered in pink blooms, she’s going to be a sight! The variety is Bonica.

Very small shrub rose with numerous small, light pink blooms. A blue Lowe’s 5 gallon paint bucket, used to provide a slow trickle of water to the rose bush, stands to the side. A circle of wire mesh surrounds the rose bush to protect tender leaves from bunny nibbles. The flower bed will be pretty in the Spring, after edging stones & mulch are installed.
