C'est vrai, mais c'est aussi élevé au Québec, si on exclut la biomasse (ce que fait le fédéral dans ses stats). Je laisse ce graphique pour remettre les choses en perspective.

The story says @schiff.senate.gov and his party plan on visiting Quebec to meet premier Fréchette in October. (note: if she's still premier past the October 5 provincial election). But the fall foliage is spectacular around Quebec City that time of year, so feel free to enjoy the sights.

Pourtant, il me semble avoir lu hier que la presse argentine mettait en doute l'impartialité de l'arbitre français parce qu'il a collé un carton rouge à un international argentin durant un match de Ligue 1. 😜

A commendable stand taken against corruption by— … omg
Joseph S. Blatter: Red cards are not overturned by political phone calls. They are overturned by rules, evidence and independent bodies. If a U.S. President intervenes with the FIFA President — and a player is suddenly cleared before a World Cup knockout match — the question is unavoidable: Quo vadis, FIFA?

Football must never become a playground for political power.

Several documents bearing government seals are spread across the table as she signs one with a pen, symbolizing California's partnership with Québec and Washington to begin the process of linking their carbon markets.

And as you mention, you cannot improvise your way with a large project. We first told the utility about our plans back in 2018-19 and we commissioned the chargers last month, so they had time to add our project to their planning.

We currently charge 10 city buses running on a 50,000 km/year schedule with 850 kW at peak time. Each bus is pulling 400-500 kWh/day, 7 days a week. So, in my humble opinion, 1,500 kW for a single car is not only overkilll, it's a waste of resources (and money for the sucker paying the hydro bill).

There is a reason why there is now a 5,000 kW threshold over which you need HQ and government approval to connect a large load in Quebec. A consequence of the crypto bros asked for 22 GW (!) back in 2022.

Claude Boucher @bouchecl.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
Yeah, that had an impact on our strategy. The nearby Bourget 230-25 kW sub near to our current depot had sufficient MVA available. We had another site at the other end of town , which is served by another sub, but we came too late. The spare capacity was all taken by datacenter projects.

Classic case of split incentives. Drivers do not want to pay for the instant power, they think charging for it is price gouging. Charging operators and large fleet owners usually know better.

And it's not needed anyway. I bought an Equinox EV (not a very fast charging EV, but with a huge battery) 18 months ago. I hardly ever use fast charging. I prefer sipping 6.2 kW at the nearest public charger in the parking lot. And I'm doing just fine.

We recently added 3,000 kW of DC chargers (with 40 plugs) at my day job. HQ connected us with dual underground 25 kV feeders (1 main and 1 backup) connected directly to the nearby 230-25 kV substation located 800 m away. Not the kind of a setup public utilities want to randomly connect to the grid.
