Not much of interest for this week's #WildFlowerHour except what I think is Lesser Hawkbit.
A brilliant yellow flower with many many strappy petals each with incised ends, taken from directly above. about 40mm across. The underside of a yellow flower showing the bottom of the petals, which are grey-brown, and the slightly hairy sepals. The background is out of focus grey stone with moss and lichen, The gone-over involucre of the flower, showing its sepals with hairy midribs and black tips. Its held in the fingers of a male white caucasian hand .The stems and basal leaves of the Lesser hawkbit, they're slightly pannatifid and covered in short white hairs, all against a stone wall.

"you call that a phaser? THIS is a phaser."
A male left hand holding a black pcb. Enclosed by a hedge of black female pin headers is a grid of beige light dependent resistors, poking up from within the box.
The head of each LDR is roughly elliptical, and has a rusty-red squiggle crossing it. Each also has a pin poking up at the rounded ends of the ellipse.
There are three yellow LEDs in a row in the centre. The background of the image is a blurred blue soldering mat.

Common Toadflax, the only snap I took today on a wander over the dry lands, which are only just starting to recover. The grasses are greening but the flowerage is pitiful. Stunted Knapweeds & Hawkbeards/bits/weeds, a few shrivelled Harebells & some Small Scabious. #WildFlowerHour

Slightly cheating for #WildFlowerHour as this is actually from last week, but Bsky was down for me all last Sunday. A very delicious Devil's-Bit Scabious.

Four panel cartoon by Sarah Andersen.
Drawn in her characteristic simple plain black and white line style.
Title is "How it feels to be alive lately".

Top left: Sarah's character sits on a rug in the outdoors surrounded by shrubs and a few flowers. Above her is the legend " - Existing - ". She wears her trademark stripy getup.

Top right: Same frame but now a another character's head emerges into frame from left. Sarah's character looks at them.

Bottom left: the new character is seen more fully with half chest and nearly full head. They have a speech bubble reading "That'll be $70."

Bottom right: Just the full face of Sarah's character, eyes starting to brim with tears and the speech bubble "Ok"

"Damn it's the eclipse tonight and I don't have any glasses" [memory grinds into action] "But I do have some 50 year-old Rodinal and 60 year-old lith film in those boxes behind the bed I haven't opened for 6 years." [15 minutes later]
A box about 10x15cm on a kitchen worktop. It's orange-red with the triangular logo of the Agfa-Gevaert company on it and the words (amongst others) "Film Developer", "Rodinal" and "negativ". At the top it has a stylised black frame of 35mm film across which in white on black it says "Now/Ahora/Adesso 500ml"

It's also got the word "FOX" scrawled on it in large biro letters. I have no idea who FOX was.A sheet of fully fogged developed film about 200x100mm hanging from a wlre by a yellow clothes peg in one corner, the background includes a wooden beam crossing the image horizonatally.

Been to the Rosebay Willowherb forests again, lads. #WildFlowerHour
A brown earthen path with rough grasses to the edges snakes off in the centre of the image, while on each side towers a forest of tall (2 metres and more) flowers, each bearing spike inflorescences of deep pink. To the top and sides at the background are the crowns of trees and white-blue skies.

The followers chart is similar to almost everyone else's (because so many joined 2024-11) but that funny little blip of most recent followers created 2024-08-ish is interesting. Suggests a block of compromised or maybe just og inauthentic accts just came to life. cc ‪@aaron.bsky.team‬
A simple scatter chart with account create date as the Y axis and follower order on the X axis.
There's a thick grey line across it at roughly 2024-11 when a lot of people joined bluseky & followed other accounts, but there's also an unusual little blob of the account's most recent followers that were created a month or so earlier.

Google streetview shows it still there in Oct 2025, but of course now they're applying genai processing to streetview images for some reason, and it looks like this 😬
Image of Busy Bee Cafe, 7th St, Defuniak Springs, Florida USA
Its a corner of a building with blue painted wooden frontage and a red door.
But the image appears to have been processed through genAI, so it's weirdly smoothed and yet at the same time striated, giving it a "fake" appearance like all genAI.

This isn't exactly a #WildFlowerHour post but it's adjacent as a call for a tree ID (so I'll tag #WildFlowerID & hope for the best) Is this a Whitebeam? (No, I did not think to look beneath the leaves)
Five large green leaves on the end of a branch being held by a white male hand. Each leaf is a large rather rounded oval about 25cm long and 15-20cm wide, strongly marked with veins and a distinct midrib.

#WildFlowerHour About 5 or 6 years ago, this downland (several ha) was a carpet of Common Spot, Pyramidal and Fragrant orchids so dense it was impossible not to tread on them. Nothing now for several years. The management of this area has not changed in any way over that time. #ClimateChange

Viper's Bugloss, Echium vulgare Last year, there was almost none of this to be found, and what there was consisted of stunted and cropped specimens. Quite a comeback this year. #WildFlowerHour
