Do any of my moots have clean cardboard boxes? I will trade you freshly picked homegrown tomatoes for cardboard boxes if you bring them to me out in SE PDX. I don't drive, but I do garden... And my tomatoes are juicy and delicious 😏. OMG I have a ton of hot peppers, too. So many Serranos!
A bounty of fresh ripe tomatoes are cradled in a cloth napkin. The tomatoes are a variety of shapes and sizes, from golden cherry tomatoes, to Romas, and Purple Cherokees.

And, just like my waiting until 18 to go onto social media, i really wish more people were like this.

Tomato Paste Day! I did not get a photo of the finished tomato paste because this was a larger batch than normal, and I wasn't done baking & folding until after 10pm. It takes a full day to make tomato paste, which is why I only make it once per year. Truly, a labor of love ❤️🍅!
A large blue shallow dutch oven is overflowing with fresh chopped tomatoes. They are bright red and shiny, glistening with olive oil and flaked with sea salt.

The dutch oven sits on a stovetop. The last remnants of tomato skins and seeds are in a food mill.

The food mill is stainless steel. There's a bowl with a sieve on the bottom. A hand crank pushes the tomatoes through the sieve into the pot below. The blue dutch oven is now half-full of a bright red-orange tomato puree. It glistens with olive oil around the edges.

The dutch oven sits on a wire rack on the stovetop.

It took us until Sunday afternoon, but we made green onion cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy. Finally! I'm exhausted, but satiated 😌. The recipe is pretty easy and I had help, but I'm disabled and it's a low-spoon day. Now I rest.
A cheesy crumbly drop biscuit with green onions sits on a small white plate. It's smothered in white sausage gravy. The gravy is visibly seasoned and rich.

"it’s making lethal recommendations, which don’t appear to receive enough human oversight to prevent atrocities. In February, the US military fired Tomahawk missiles directly at a girls’ school in Minab, Iran and killed over 150 people—most of them young children."
Quoted from Mother Jones:

Claude’s target selection is reportedly only about 60 percent accurate in good conditions, 30 percent accurate in bad weather. So Pentagon officials claim there’s always a human in the loop when selecting who to bomb.

“We follow the law and humans make decisions,” Hegseth told the Senate Armed Services Committee in May. “AI is not making lethal decisions.”

But it’s making lethal recommendations, which don’t appear to receive enough human oversight to prevent atrocities. In February, the US military fired Tomahawk missiles directly at a girls’ school in Minab, Iran and killed over 150 people—most of them young children. Seven months later, UN experts called the strike a crime against humanity.

As AI companies enter the battlefield, “the scale of atrocities committed…is rising correspondingly.”

I got two new friends to sit next to each other in my movie cabinet! My favorite adaptation of The Odyssey, and the movie that best encapsulates the feeling of betrayal when you realize a male friend never saw you as a friend & person, but an object to be acquired. Obsession is a perfect film.
A white hand holds two DVD cases. One is for Oh! Brother, Where Art Thou? The other is Obsession.

All ripe tomatoes have been picked, as well as supplementary herbs. Now it is time to make the pasta sauce! Maybe I'll halfass a recipe below. IDK. I usually cook this dish *by feeling* 💃.
Got-damned beautiful wicker basket with a bunch of tomatoes and herbs in it.

The tomatoes and herbs are dewy from the rain. The tomatoes come in all sizes. The herbs are parsley, rosemary, and a fuckton of basil.

I've lined the basket with a cotton napkin so as not to injure my ripe tomatoes. The napkin is blue and pink-orange paisley.

Plants remain winning for air filtration! I just brought in starter trays of sorrel, red lettuce, and buttercrunch; two big basil plants; a lemongrass; and a large ginger. The air smells fresher immediately. Bring in some plants, if you got 'em!

I wonder how much money netflix paid NVDIA to put a netflix button on the remote where your palm hits so you accidentally press it ALL THE TIME. Bonus, it's not as tall as the other buttons so it's extra easy to accidentally press it every time you pick up the remote.

Now I know why my grandma is suddenly finding "god" and feeling the need to slide Trump politics in our conversations. She used to just be my chill grandma with a giod head on her shoulders. I pray for her sanity. She's 90 years old. Leave her alone, techbros!
A textimg screen shows this conversation:

Grandma: I'm watching Matt Walsh.

Me: Oh I stay very far away from him.

Me: He is... Quite the reactionary

Grandma: Yeah, that figures.

Me: From a research background, he has poor authorship. Like, he gets very loose with his interpretation of reality, and has a deep rightwing bias.

Grandma: Okay

Me: Just letting you know that YouTube's algorithm pushes users into increasingly untrustworthy rightwing content.

Me: This has been tested.

Grandma: Okay
