I can't believe student loan repayment sites just straight up recommend "pay the lowest amount until you die" as an option now.
The image is a screenshot of a student loan repayment website. The text states:

If forgiveness or paying loans off is not feasible

Consider the following

Enroll in the lowest repayment plan possible until the end of time

Federal student loans are discharged upon death: Explore your repayment plan options using the FSS Loan Simulator. Enroll in the plan with the lowest monthly payment to minimize financial strain.

Plans include:

Extended repayment plan

Income-driven repayment plan (like SAVE, PAYE, IBR, ICR)

I was gonna comment that it looks like a botched H.R. Giger painting only to find out that it indeed is just a work by H.R. Giger

Not fully my lane, but putting Festivus as the top "See Also on the Wikipedia page for Kwanzaa feels like a hate crime.

Possessed Opossum's character Ashton the deer wearing an oversized gray suit like David Byrne's from the Talking Heads. He has a shit eating grin as he looks directly into your eyes. He also has a rainbow cravat.

Left to right: Geddy Lee and Alex lifeson of Rush depicted as a modern take on rubber hose cartoon crows. These are shown as apart of their 50-something tour if 2026. While not heard, they speak with over the top mid-century New York accents. Geddy's has round rimmed glasses and a blue scarf. Alex's has an open collared blue shirt, a joint, white unkempt hair, and a more fuckable figure.

Thank you so much! It's been a VERY long time since I picked up a paintbrush and I'm really happy you like it. First time doing fanart like this and I couldn't think of a better character for it. Also, I found this painting from the 60s that now hangs in my house that I used for inspiration.
There are two paintings in this image. One is being held up by a hand and is the vibrantly painted Ashton with his chaotic hair, lazily crept open eyes, and... teeth. The right painting is a painting by an unknown artist with the last name "Freedman" of a violent abstract expressionist portrait of a young woman

Absolutely! I'd also love to think the first exhibition job they let him be head of conservation for is for "Itinerant Art: Antebellum American Portraits" and all the paintings look like this. (Please read the alt-text for context)
The painting "Mrs. Mayer and Daughter" by Ammi Phillips. Itinerant art describes art that is created and sold by going from place to place rather than in a studio. It was popular practice in the 18th through the mid-19th century in America for these painters to work a certain region and paints portraits for the middle class families in smaller towns and villages. As for Ammi Phillips, he primarily painted in the areas of Massachusetts. New York, and Connecticut. Ammi Phillips, like the majority of Itinerant painters, were self-taught and often formulaic in their compositions. There is still a collector community for these painting especially of they can tied to a certain artist.

However, my god are they fucking UGLY ass paintings?! People saw this and were like, "Yeah, that looks like me and I'm totally cool with this". Bruh, your child looks like it has barbie arms and is going through a mid-life crisis. If I tried to paint something like this, I feel like that woman would say "Aw, bless your heart" and give me extra money assuming I had a learning disability. It's soooooo bad and creepy as fuck.

I think the Metal Gear Solid is guilty of some bad cover art. There are variants of it that were made but for me, my PS1 copy was just text on a white background.
The black background cover variant of the PS1 game Metal Gear Solid. There is a vertical bar on the left indicating it is a Playstation game. The old style Komani logo in the bottom right hand corner of the cover. Y'know, the one that looks like you're about to stack two Britons? There is a white background and in the middle is the logo for "Tactical Espionage Action Metal Gear Solid." All six of these words combined in this order make absolutely no sense but Kojima decided these words were in the correct order and I can't doubt daddy Hideo Kojima-sensei on that front.

The only piece of music gear that was owned by a major musician that I'd ever want to own is the knock-off Rickenbacker Peter Hook played on the TV show "Something Else" in 1979 with Joy Division
Bassist Peter Hook of Joy Division playing on the TV program "Something Else". The bass he's playing is a Japanese or Korean knock-off of a Rickenbacker style bass. Real Rickenbacker basses are most famously played by Paul McCartney of the Beatles in their early years and Geddy Lee from Rush. A real Rickenbacker bass usually goes for at least 2000-3000 dollars on the lower end of the modern bass market. I assume the one Peter Hook was playing here he bought for much much less than that, but because of the provenance would be worth as much as a real Rickenbacker.

Carved wood skeleton rocking chair made in Russia in the 19th century. The chair frame carved in full relief as a seated human skeleton with a drop in cushion seat, on the extended rockers applied with carved fantastical beasts. (The above caption is taken from a reddit post.)

A blur filter has been added to the edges to make it look like the skeleton rocking g chair is going fast. A zoomed in glowing red picture of the skull with glowing eyes is emphasized to make it seem like the skeleton is about to go super saiyan or even explode.

Hey!!! I found out something about an artist Walter Strubczewski. He was in the Navy from 1945-1949 and got two BFAs with the GI Bill. He worked in advertising, continued to exhibit work, won some local awards too! He died in 2021 at the age of 93. He was in his 40s when he made these posters.
