An event flyer inviting people to a BSC event. The flyer reads, "Jesus Montaño is an Assistant Professor of English at Baylor University with a focus on Latinx literatures and cultures and a special interest in children’s and young adult literary and cultural production. His new book, Young Latinx Shakespeares: Race, Justice, and Literary Appropriation, examines how contemporary Latinx young adult novels utilize Shakespeare as a locus for cultural and literary production to willfully open and create new terrains. We're grateful to Jesus Montaño for this generous review of "The Bard in the Borderlands" in the latest issue of The Shakespeare Newsletter. Read the entire review online: shakespearenewsletter.com/review-of-th...
A graphic that celebrates a book review from Jesus Montaño in the latest issue of The Shakespeare Newsletter. The review says, "The Bard in the Borderlands indeed invites its audience not only to see the richness of the Borderlands artistic and literary archive but also beckons its audience, from this newfound awareness, to place these works in the service of cultural and social justice. Reanimation, in this sense, is a form of literary and social activism that envisions a way forward; that is, it is a path from our current reality to more just worlds."
