When our founder Aimee Murphy was 16 years old, her rapist threatened to kill her if she didn't get an abortion. That moment changed her life and led her to become a pro-life feminist. Watch Aimee share her full story here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tSwlKbkgzQ #ConsistentLifeEthic #prolife
Aimee Murphy tells her story:
He said to me, “Aimee, you need to get an abortion. I will drive you, I will pay for it, but you need to get it taken care of.”
...he said, “Aimee, if you don’t get an abortion...I might kill you, and then myself.”He clearly didn’t care about me, about my dignity. He had disregarded my lack of consent when it came to sex, and now, he was threatening to kill me.

And yet something else clicked in that moment, too.I knew that, if I was indeed pregnant, that the child within me would be worthy of the same respect and care that I was deserving of.

I knew that I couldn’t be like him. That was he was telling me was, “You’re an inconvenience to me, you’re an inconvenience to my future — therefore, I’m going to kill you.”

And I knew I couldn’t say that exact same thing to an innocent, defenseless human being.
