unlike the WoLs being together for the entire time, Estinien and Kenji only met later and weren't always together to witness each other's struggles. they both have moments when they think about their partner's pain with regret of not being there to ease it. it gives me cuteness aggression.

me, my beloved friend @chuixiv.bsky.social and few of our FC friends have a shared #chiokiverse canon where two of our characters are the WoLs and life partners. all of the other alts we have also belong to the same story and work together for one in-universe Free Company allied with the Scions.

Mine and my friend's WoLs - Chi'yo and Naoki. They are the protagonists of our story.

Cat duo adventuring together alongside the WoLs. Faar belongs to me and Lovro belongs to my friend. Lovro, being an older war veteran and a healer, feels protective of his younger and excitable friend.

The "bnnuy" brothers are also an adventuring duo from the same company - Deu (mine) and Kouki (my friend's). They treat each other as brothers and have a close "found family" bond.

Naoki and Kenji (my OC) are brothers, who were adopted by the Oronir and see Magnai as their "big bro".

he does have a dedicated squadron, that idolizes and almost worships him and they're doing a fantastic job for the Flames. he ran a few missions with them and taught them the basics, but they mostly train by following his exploits and apply for missions in his name to make him proud.

Koana and Deu have been on an endless race for top score of their school. They have completely different styles and methods of studying, so their rivalry was fueled further by their constant fights over whose way is better.

When the two were forced to work together on a major project for their final score, they had to inevitably spend more time together and compromise on their studying methods. Usually Deu was the one teasing his short and serious rival, but he found himself taken aback by how forward Koana was in asserting dominance over the assignment.

What was supposed to be the test of their determination, ended up bringing them close together. They ended up understanding each other's ways and became inseparable.

It's been a year since Koana and Deu got to see each other more than for a brief moment. Deu couldn't keep hiding behind all the work and agreed to sit down with the Vow of Reason. Though neither of them could properly address their issues and the area was filled with awkward silence.

Being a diplomat, Koana made an attempt to speak up first. He didn't want to scare his friend away by pouring out his feelings onto him, but needed Deu to know how much he misses his company throughout the long months.

For a while there was no reaction or a word from Deu, making Koana feel like he won't be able to salvage this relationship. Especially when the Veena suddenly covered Koana's mouth with his hand, still not uttering a word in reply.

Deu wasn't ready for an actual kiss when he still doesn't understand his own feelings. But in truth the gesture felt even more intimate for them. A tease for Koana to not give up and work diligently for a proper kiss.
